It was nice to see a guy who's struggled in TV matches over the years finally conquer the demons and triumph with a huge 300 game... Even better when you get to share it with your family!! Congrats... 🎳
He had bowled a 300 earlier in the year and knew what it was like to have two to go. I think it was pretty cool that he was in a game with somebody else who got a 300.
i remember watching this on TV when i was little. it was one of the first matches i ever watched. this very match sent me into three years of junior league and loads of medals and trophies. i will forever thank this game of bowling for my experience that i gained.
Well she is going to hug and kiss her husband to. WHY is there always some Woke Snow Flake S.O.B. trying to make something bad out of something good???
Wow. Just joined a local league. My highs are 188, 190, 198 and 201. I couldn’t imagine bowling a perfect 300. Gee, this inspired me! Practice more and get better! Awesome to watch pro bowlers at there finest!
@@Mark-sj3xb never heard of that, but I use an iq pearl, and I got an average of 231 and 3 300s in my first season with that ball. Combine that with a clear white/navy, and a mix, then you are golden. Sponsored by storm btw
Go talk to someone in a pro shop. A lot of the times they will let you throw a few balls and see your style and match you with a ball that will work with your style.
Chris Barnes, the man who I personally saw 10 years ago wiping his ball with one hand by tossing it in the air. (Pink storm ball) Glad to see him change his style and pick up the nuances. He seems to be reading the other players ball to get a good read for his own.
By Australian standards sure hes classy and is just a chill dude but the American audience thinks he's a dog and is trying to pull a fast one of everyone while trying to drink some water haha.
I think this is the cleanest 300 I've ever seen. Usually there is a throw or two that doesn't hit the pocket cleanly or a lucky break. But every throw was textbook.
What an amazing professional Chris Barnes is for being able to answer a technical question midgame from one of the commentators about his adjusting to the conditions of the lanes versus his opponents in that game! Watch it again starting @6:11.
I’m so happy they don’t talk to the players while they’re bowling anymore. It’s nice to know what they’re thinking but when I have my ball in my hand, don’t talk to me.
6:09 announcers question Barnes with ball in hand, as he proceeds to bowl a perfect 300. Makes the feat more amazing to watch. I don't think any other professional sports do this during the rounds to athletes.
Chris Barnes is a very smart guy and experienced on the lanes. Years ago I spoke with him about things I was struggling with on my bowling 🎳 game and his advice was very important and educational to me. Adjust to the lanes immediately is important. Thanks again Chris for your expert tutelage. Congratulations on your 300 game on Television. God bless you and your family abundantly.
FUN FACT: 56 days before, Barnes' opponent Jason Belmonte bowled the 21st PBA TV 300 on these very lanes, while two years later, Sean Rash bowled the first of his two perfect games, the 23rd PBA TV 300, in Shawnee, OK.
A lot of people go for power and let the hook do more of the work than the placement of the ball. Barnes is a very intelligent bowler who knows how to make adjustments on the fly.
0:42 Struck ‘em out! 2:07 Back to back jacks with an amazing view! 4:22 Barnzy’s now having some Thanksgiving turkey! 6:59 And some Xmas ham! 8:48 He just rolled a Yahtzee! 10:37 And cracked open a 6 pack with Beef & his buddies! 11:57 I guess Barnzy’s lucky after all… 13:51 He’s now 1 octave above Belmo!!! 15:04 That’s nein in a row! 16:53 Bo Derek! 17:57 1 more to go! 18:51 And he’s perfect!
Fun to see Ryan so engaged and excited for his dad! Can’t wait to see what that kid’s gonna do. Super high skill ceiling and started really young. Not to mention his genetics
Mark He may know what he is doing, but maybe his idea of the needed adjustment was to hit it harder or hit where he wanted to. He may simply have been missing his marks.
I mean he is doing the 300, he is given aggressive high-fives by his son and his wife is sitting next to them. On top of that you cast part of your early strikes to us explaining part of the work and calling shot of a lifetime before the last throw. Perfection. It is like two galaxies colliding in perfect synergy and this was the peak event of it.
Mark he hasn’t been that way for a while. One of the reasons I switched from one handed to two handed is because of him. The main reason was because it felt more comfortable for me.
Chris Barnes will forever be known as the first man who lost a title to a woman in a major professional sports tournament championship event. (Yes, it's not a snark, but a tribute to a great bowler. Chris had stated that he was used to being beaten all the time by his wife, also a professional bowler. And Kelly Kulick would have smoked anyone, not just the Player of the Year Barnes.)
I've had the front 10 probably a dozen times...10 289 games (several 10-pins, 4-pins, an 8-pin), One (1) 287 (missed the 4-pin spare...pathetic) and one 300 game... my last two strikes were REALLY high trip-4 and right through the beak trip-big four.... The other 11 games I made respectable 11th shots and no luck... through the beak twice and I get a 300... go figure....
What made this even more impressive is how Belmo, and Rash would miss wide by a hair and the ball never had a chance to recover. That line Barnes played is so tough, and then be able to make moves with your feet when your playing 2 of the strongest revving bowlers pushing oil all over the place. Definitely the most impressive 300 I have ever seen. Barnes wife was a hell of a bowler as well.
Who knew that the little boy on the left at 0:55 would eventually follow in his father’s footsteps and become PBA player himself? It appears Rash was wrenching the hell out of his ball, causing it to hydroplane on the lane and not make it to the pocket. As Chris Barnes was telling Randy earlier, he was keeping his ball speed soft. Even with the shots that came in the pocket light, his speed control and low axis of rotation allowed the ball to read at just the right spot on the lanes so that it carried when it got to the pocket.
Such a good guy, Chris Barnes. Belmo and Rash hate each other, but you could see that both of them were really happy for Barnes in the end. There are many 300 games on TV finals. Rash has 2 now and so does Frankie Lavoie, but this Barnes 300 remains my favorite. Also, would it be wrong of me to admit that I spent only 50% of my attention watching Barnes bowl and 80% watching Sarah Rash and her legs in the background? Yes, I am bad in math.
