      Minus Previous as we learned in the 80s,music and looks dont have a thing to do with each other. The best guitar players were always the oddest looking guy in their band.
      If the guitarist isn't the weirdest looking dude in the band,they are probably not going to be legendary 20 years later.

    One of the greatest ever. This man is a genius. In addition, he is a very nice guy. Satriani seens to be very humble, despite his importance.

  • @linuslines2875

    he is a music genius, he completely understands music as a whole and breaks it down as much as he can, i know because i understand music just as he is trying to say but its hard to explain a color to a blind man ya know, but he is a genius who knows and totally understand the back bone of music.

      ***** I also met him once. I was at a meet and greet and he is such a cool dude. I had switched the pickups on my JS1200 and he was really intrigued by it, so he startet explaining why he had chosen the the tone wood he had (which was chosen, because he felt like he could put whatever pickup in it and the wood would allow them to "open up" and show character). And he asked me why i had chosen the ones i had and what sound i was going for etc.. But the best part was him playing it!! That blew my mind lol. I felt like i should have framed it and bought a new lol!. It was really awesome to meet the guy that made me want to start when i was 12-13.

      I'll tell what NOT TO do.
      Don't ask for the guitar. Let him play. Don't say "Let me show you what i can do"
      What to do:
      Smile and say "more, come on more" like if you are really enjoying it. People will love it. It's like Faking an orgasm for girls you know, we feel sexy hahaha

    • @imglidinhere
      @imglidinhere 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Or you know, give a genuine answer to what you're listening to. Stay positive. It was always awesome, even when I know I sounded shitty, when someone took the time to compliment even one thing I was doing good amidst all the things you heard me doing poorly. It means a lot to an aspiring guitarist, especially one that's dedicated.

    Teaching my grand daughter ( 8 years old ) how to play guitar. It's a struggle for both of us, but as long as she keeps interest, I'll get her there. Her main interest ?? She wants to be able to play Blues. Now how damned cool is THAT ?!!!

      +ReneeNme at 8 years old huh? that's like trying to teach an 8 month old how to crap in the bowl instead of his or her diaper. guitar is much harder than say, "piano" to learn at that tender young age. you don't see 8 year olds playing Van Halen's "Eruption", but you see 7 year olds playing " Flight Of The Bumble Bee " precisely on a piano!?!? guitar is crazy complicated vs. piano for an 8 year old, even blues. don't waste too much time teaching your little grandbaby guitar. they have to pick that instrument up on their own when their much older. let her noodle with that instrument for 5 minutes, but after that, get her the hell away from that instrument.......and put her on a swing at the local playground!!

      +Puertecitos68 You clearly have not seen any videos of youtuber "Tina S" [I don't know her full name]. She started playing quite young, and you can find videos of her playing guitar when she was around eight or ten. Same goes for the famous guitarist Sungha Jung. He started playing at a very young age. Sure, guitar may be crazy complicated, but everything comes with practice :) don't just dismiss someone's ideas.

      Keep it up, if she's enjoying it she'll pick up new stuff much quicker than you or I will (the little show offs). I managed to get my daughter to start playing last year at 8, and she doesn't have much trouble picking up chord shapes and strumming patterns. Maybe it's a wee bit early for Satriani though ;)

    I was just listening to Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons." When I got to 'Winter' I realized this would be PERFECT for Joe to play - all the fast violin solos, etc. He has the skill. He should be backed NOT by an orchestra (it's always lame when hard rock/metal acts play with orchestra backing), but by his band members. With the creativity Joe displayed in his first e.p., and all of his pedals, he could pull it off. "Satriani Plays Vivaldi" - why not? If I had money, I'd sponsor it.

    To make room for 24 frets means you have to move the neck pickup. Then it cant cancel out the 2nd octave harmonics on the open strings (and many other harmonics). Thus it will not have that warm and smooth sound you want from a neck pickup.

  • @TheAvailable43
    @TheAvailable43 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Engh0510 It has too do with the bending up and down and it both returns to the note. Yes you can take it a third from the major scale or minor, and can even transposition to the flatted fifth note I believe. Best too use your ears....
