That one of the differences between Shadowlands and BFA both were kind of Meh, but at least BFA felt like they put a lot of effort into the story and character development
If Jaina and Uther had stuck with Arthas with the Stratholme purge and the Northrent invasion, he probably would have returned as one of the strongest paladins after his fight with the undead with his faith in the light renewed under Uther's guidance. Also the two of them would be able to advice Teranas on how to handle the undead incurssion in Lordaeron dealing a swift end to it. In his moment of need at Stratholme even the light turned away from him after he lost hope in this damned task he had to do. Purge innocents because the complacent leadership of Lordaeron took the plague too lightly.

Daelin saw orcs only as warmongering beasts who had to be destroyed, when in fact Thrall's horde had put their war days behind them and wanted to settle down. It was Daelin who attacked the horde in Durotar, it was him who provoked the horde into attacking Theramore. Jaina tried to warn him that they were not a threat but he was an arrogant and ignorant prick who chose to not believe his own daughter who fought against Demonlords and lived to tell the tale bcs he thought he was always right. I understand that Jaina letting her own father die sounds bad, but she chose her honor and dignity.

WOW isn’t a typical story, it’s a story that keeps moving forward, and never truly ends much like real life. We see how events of the past always seem to comeback for better or worse. We see how Thrall feels guilty for Carine’s death and his failures with Garrosh. We see Saurfangs struggles to ensure the old savage Horde never returns, and how he feels guilt for living on despite what’s he’s seen and done. And most obviously we see Jaina living through the demons of her past through Arthus, Theramore, and letting her own father die to ensure peace. These characters aren’t the same people they were years ago, and it’s fascinating to see how war and loss has changed them.
This expansion did something I needed, something previous writers have failed to do for a long time now. It reminded me why I loved Jaina as a character, as a long time horde fan, removing the reason and compassion that was part of jainas character just felt wrong for several years now. Making Jaina into this vindictive character since theramores destruction just felt like character assassination to me. This Jaina feels like the one from wc3, the one I liked and missed.
Her being vengeful after what happened at Theramore was always understandable. It wasn't character assassination it was character development. Whining and crying about perfectly natural feelings to a horrible tragedy like Theramore is beyond stupid. I can't imagine how so many people liked your comment.
I would love to think that because of the player's part in saving Jaina and reuniting her with her mother, she would go on to think of the player as her best friend.

I actually really like Lorth. Mop took him from a leader I barely know to one I genuinely like. He had a big role in the throne of thunder and the purge of Dalaran. Edit: to add to that, I have this to say of Lorth. He's the leader of the blood elves. He puts his people above everything else. That is the trait I admire most about him. He was willing to swallow his pride for any grievances he had towards the Alliance and was in talks to rejoin them. Mostly because Garrosh was treating the blood elves and other races like they were disposable. Which is exactly why Kael left the Alliance in the first place. So he keeps much the same motives as Kael did. Then when Dalaran happened, he couldn't realign his people with them for both emotional and practical reasons. A lot of blood elves would have good reasons to hate the Alliance freshly, Jaina in particular. But also if Jaina harbors grievances towards his people, she could convince Varian to treat them as disposable again. So Lorth is pragmatic enough to realize this. He may just be a steward for Kael(who still hasn't gotten the redemption he deserves unlike Illidan) but he's one that really follows the best interest of his people. I really would love to see Kael come back. I could see a very game of thrones esc power play happening, where the people are torn between the prince who betrayed them and the steward who led them so faithfully for quite a while.

One of the many reasons i loved WoW was the story and characters, i played Warcraft III ages ago too. Jainas story throughout wow is one of the few good things Blizz did in the last decade, everything else they completely butchered, cannot believe what they did in Shadowlands, how DIRTY they did Arthas, ARTHAS, the most celebrated character in Warcraft history and best selling product they ever made. THey are forcing so hard for everyone to forget him and look forward to Sylvanas' FORCED redemption that is impossible to achieve at this point, but they can always retcon everything and make it seem like Sylvanas was never in control of herself, oh yes she was, for a long time.

Probably not the most popular thought... but this feels like a bit of a letdown compared to dark ominous tone of the warbringers cinematic and song... i half expected her to go rogue pirate and fallen hero to villain, so much like Arthas in the tragic sense. This feels like an "all's well that ends well" copout...
