Thank you for this, it’s been 4 years since my husband and I divorced, I have been praying for God to move. I have experienced God move in my heart and I pray for him to change my husband as well. I know Satan has destroyed our family and I still fight the enemy on my knees everyday.

I wish my wife would listen to this....sounds like our exact situation, ive tried to tell her all of this and all she says is " what about my feelings, and how I feel" that's the reason she wants to divorce...she doesn't feel it anymore...it really seems like she has blinders on. we have 3 kids, it breaks my heart and ive given it to God... all I can do is pray and have faith, be the best man and father I can be.

Man, been through this. A lot of understanding for the other party. It's amazing how we victimize ourselves in order to justify our desire to point the finger. What if the party who wanted the divorce pointed the finger at themselves and faced their mess. Before we get the needle out of our spouse's eye, we got the tree trunk out of our own...

What a great video. This is displaying the glory of God to change the hearts of man like Scriptures teach. What started to happen to you the wife is that your heart started to discover itself. As soon as the focus comes off of us and what the spouse is doing to us and we take responsibility for our own actions as well the softening of the heart starts to happen. It doesn’t feel good and we don’t really tell anybody but it’s so liberating. And it also shows how God knows our heart and tries it. I praise our Living King Jesus for Him and who He is!!!

What if your prodigal spouse moved right in with there affair
Partners ! They both divorced is ( there spouses ) and are still together ! They don’t have to feel the loneliness that Amy was talking about ! They get to justify there actions together everyday ! They get to blame there spouses for the reasons they are together! What then ??
Only god can intervene in there deception! Only god can bring conviction and truth ! My spouse chooses no communication with me ! He seems angry with me ! He asked about how I am doing to my daughter! He sees me as doing good and asks about it ! He pretends like he is happy for me yet blocks me on the phone when I try to be nice and communicate to him about our daughters needs for money or something ! I see no change of heart In him ! I just keep praying 🙏

I’m a standing husband and I my wife has moved on before the divorce. I get what you’re saying because my wife have the kids most of the week and have this other person it’s not often she is allowed to be on her own and really process her decision and impact and to hear God. God can do it still but I wonder if another person came into the picture for Amy…after listening to about 5 of their videos so far it seems like she was single the entire time. The only thing that somewhat helps in my situation is the other person isn’t located in the US so my wife only talks to them on the phone. She has traveled to Nigeria to be with them for a couple weeks and plan to do it again this year in about a month. Hurts but no distance and no situation is too hard for God

Thank you for your testimony! There are so many similarities between your situation and mine that hearing about what God was capable of doing in your case fills me with hope and faith! I just wanted to ask, though, what kind of parental arrangement you guys had, who of you was the primary caregiver (sounds like Amy was), and how old your children were at the time. I'm trying to figure out what's going to be best for ours...

98% is nothing for God. God can change narcissists. But this label is over used and most of the time untrue and can apply to many many people-generalized criteria. I'm appalled by how many people all over the internet and even professionals are just over using this term and label.

    • @PurposedMarriage
      @PurposedMarriage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

That you for commenting. You are right. This label is overused for sure. It's often brought up in the context of one not being able to change. Not so. Christ has the power to change all sinners and transform their hardened hearts of stone into softened hearts of flesh. Blessings.

Thank you so much for these honest podcasts. Even in Matthew sexual immorality is not the right statement. It was written to address the Jews regarding betrothal. The actual word was pornia and Christ was addressing betrothal not marriage. Marriage is serious in the eyes of the Lord and your testimony sings of His glory and love. So happy you are sharing and helping others to stand and pray and help our prodigals.

Your ministry is such a blessing! I’ve been standing for my husband’s conversion and our marriage for 4 years. I just wanted to share the original translation of Matthew 19. As another viewer shared the term isn’t “sexual immorality”. It is “fornication.” The book of Matthew was written to the Jews I was speaking of the period of betrothal. This betrothal was before the wedding ceremony and if a woman was found to not be a virgin and was found guilty of having been with another man…hence fornication, then her “spouse” was lawfully allowed to give a decree of divorce. During the betrothal in men and women were considered espoused and actually referred to each other as husband and wife even though the wedding ceremony had not yet taken place. After the wedding ceremony if someone was found guilty of sexual immorality which would be adultery they were stoned to death so there was no divorce after the wedding/marriage. There have been many translations that are incorrect and that had evolved over time to go along with the culture but this is not in alignment with the Word of God. Thank you for sharing your testimony and giving others hope in the fight for their marriages. 🙏

    Matthew 19-9
The term Christ Jesus used was "fornication."
He was referring to the Jewish custom of the betrothal or engagement period.
He didn't use the term adultery because He was not speaking about marriage.
    There's no justification for divorce.
    You can not remarry another.
Be reconciled or stay single praying for your ex spouse salvation if they divorced or walked out.
A pastor must be the husband of one wife.
All Glory to Almighty God in Christ Jesus' name through the Power of His Holy Spirit Amen

I use to go to church but I am struggling to find one. I am an American living in Colombia South America. Language is a problem. I live in a very small city and the churches that I know about do not have sound doctrine. Church is so formal and dry and I do not see Christ in the center. Seems empty. My personal relationship with God is good. I spend about an hour every morning reading the bible and praying . Spend a lot o time on the internet on Christian websites like yours. Do you know of an online bible fellowship I can be a part of. Also ... standing now 8 years for restoration of my marriage. Believing the Lord will do a miracle.

Just out of curiosity.. after the divorce, how did you guys deal with intimacy between the two of you? Were there moments of physical intimacy throughout your separation, or did that cease entirely? If there were, did that conviction change once the divorce had been processed?

Why don't we ever mention the reality of some spouses not coming back? We have people believing in something that will never happen. There's so much men and women living alone because of pride and their exes living just fine. While the ex is standing believing in fairy tales. At what point are they not coming back? Why can't we pray for their salvation and move on in another marriage i don't get it? Even God has his limits but we shouldn't? Doesn't make sense.this is what I never understood about the Christian community we talk about being grounded in reality but then believe in things that never happen. Yes their are exceptions but that not the majority. Exceptions are not the rule. Just like miracles in the bible. The majority of what Jesus did weren't miracles. But that's all we talk about. The miraclea in the bible were instant yet in real life it takes yrs and yrs but God is the same? If God made it clear he will restore in a set time then I'm all for standing but if it won't happen after 10 20 plus years while the other spouse already moved on has grandchildren and great-grandchildren then why not move on? It mindboggling

There are irreconcilable differences. It’s a generic term for those legitimate reasons for a divorce. Physical abuse etc.
If the spouse’s family is too involved then you could be tossed to the side.
If you’re divorced by another then you’re free.
