(PRE-ARRIVAL) FDNY Action in Queens. FIRE on the top floor.

LOCATION: Jackson Heights, Queens
DATE: 10/27/2019
FDNY Ladder 154 & Engine 316 were first due to a house fire. Battalion 49 arrived on scene and transmitted the 10-75 for a top floor fire that had spread into the roof. Ladder 117 ended up as FAST truck. Here are the beginning few minutes of the action. (The house with the peaked roof in front and the family on the stoop is the fire house, it may be hard to see the smoke. The only flames visible during this job were from the roof, hard to see from street level)

That is a rear mount ladder, the tower ladder is behind the 1st due truck and they didn't put the tower ladder up in this video.

I agree, it was a good interior job but to be honest you couldn't see much more from the outside after this. Plus I had to give the phone back to my brother. I didn't have my camera and my phone was dead.

So in this situation all of these companies had been originally assigned to a “car into a house” call a few blocks away. The 49 was arriving at the car into the house call when he was informed that a chief would not be needed. Just as he got canceled for the car crash job he got reassigned to a new job reporting smoke coming from a house just a few blocks away and he arrived first to transmit the 10-75. My video begins maybe 20 seconds after he transmitted it. Once the other units heard the 10-75 they secured the car involved in the crash, got in their trucks, and drove to the fire.

Yeah true. This was before I had my camera I was borrowing someone’s phone. There wasn’t too much action visible from the front after the video stopped so I didn’t miss too much luckily.
