Hey Charl. Good luck with yer project. It sparked a memory for me. 3 of us had 6 x 2 bed bungalows to build. All identical. Now here this - for the very last one we got in another hoddy, another bricky. The 5 of us ran that last one up in 4 days. Blocks and bricks to plate. Inc small gables. It was just as neat as the first. Now i put my trumpet down. All the best. Pray for dry, mild weather 😊
Mustard work as always charl. Love how clean you keep everything very professional. Well explained to the lads about cavity’s formers and brick sizes. Always measure the width of everything before setting out to adjust. Although we know NHBC can be so picky. We can can set the cav at 105 and if it drifts 5 mil that’s 110 cav at joist some NHBC will give an RI. Not understanding what we have to contend with.
Just built an extension which lined up with the existing gable end got the blockwork up opened up the pack's of bricks they were as much as 115mm wide had to hire a machine to cut all the brick down
Hey Charlie bricklayer here from QLD AUSTRALIA flying into London tonight would love to come see one your sites and see how u do it I own a bricky company of 10 would love to come do a day with u while I'm over
Bro, the ties have to run all the way around openings now, so just like up the reveal its below under the midle and above the top, i was talking to a brickie thebothe rday and he got an itme for not havingnit above
I bet every site manager would love to have you and your men working on their site in the Essex area all the time Chas? Who's your favourite Groundwork company from the Essex area mate?
Hi everyone, just a question on fairy liquid in mortar, has anyone ever had problems, I use Feb before anyone asks just over years done the odd couple fairy mix and no issues but people saying it’s outrageous to use it 😂😂
Charlie I had same problem with the formers so I used my cordless 4inche grinder with a concrete polisher disc on it to buff away the few mm works cleaner and quicker bish bosh 😊👍

Hi Charlie, can you explain the wall tie spacings for the current building regs. Cheers Steven 👌👍
750 mil apart. Every 6th course.
😂@@rickryan9520
That’s why you always tape overall not just the cavity! 100mm cavity!
On our site the reveal ties are bellow and above opening and then a tie every 450mm max in between over and under
Personally I would have shaved the blockwork with the sthil👍🏻
Make it look effortless mate! 👌🏻
How do you clean that mixer out properly! Can you still put a few bits of brick in there and get no splashes?
The window ties are a nightmare, on our site there a course below window and every 450 😮
Alreet Charlie . Just started subscribing after watching a good few of your vids . Where you working in Newcastle ? I'm northeast myself .
Should be checking widths of materials before you started
If you only just got your formers. That means no frame clips in the block work. Nhbc would have field day with that.
Just built an extension which lined up with the existing gable end got the blockwork up opened up the pack's of bricks they were as much as 115mm wide had to hire a machine to cut all the brick down
Is it Newcastle Under Lyne or Newcastle Upon Tyne ??
They had a massive version of that type of mixer at my college back in the nineties! Actually, the one at college used rollers inside.
The quality has dropped since Amy stopped site work 😂
