Never played a real one but I absolutely love the Soldano on my modelling amp. Its kind of become my go to setting lately. Control the urge to turn everything up to 12 and you have got a great "amp"
This realization @21:30 probably applies to a lot more pedals than you realize 😮 most amp style analog pedals with a level and gain knob probably work similarly.
Those links do not take me to the pedal. I used google and still only found a pedal somewhat loike it but not the pedal you are showing. Where is that Pedal?
The demos I’ve seen so far have the treble on 10 because it sounds very muddy on anything less. Also, the pedal baby needs a preamp otherwise it sounds very dull. I use a Chase Tone Secret Preamp with mine or an EP booster would also work. Otherwise I’m not sure that this pedal will cut through in a mix…
i found very hard to choose the soldano sounds as well, i dont know, i ended using a plexi, but i think its for that particular guitar that needs MOR gain always, or something like that, im kinde FORCED to use a soldano sometimes, but they are never my first choice of sound, maybe i dont know how to build on top a soldano, they are orbiting the dumble region of sound.... there i said it
That pedal is next on my list. You can hear the raw power from it. What a great job Soldano did. There are better demos that really bring out the tone of this pedal. But this is an overdrive screaming mayhem pedal. Not a good choice to demo it with single coils and a P90. Meh! Come on Andy. Don't be shy bro. BRING OUT THE METAL GUITAR!!!! AND SHRED!!!!!
Ngl there were a few “meh” moments in there but that’s mostly because it sounded a bit too much like “pedal gain” for my taste, but the strat tones especially were quite good! Dunno why this pedal isn’t purple straight out of the gate tbh.
Andy, you are a jewel, love your channel!
Great pedal! Thanks for the Review! 🙂

One thing that’s missing is setting the Fender Stratocaster to the middle pickup position 13:39
will it chug?
Hi Andy. For Demos you should think about running the items you are showcasing through a Boss Katana (maybe 50) as half the world has one. Thanks.
Why the tape over the SG headstock? Probably not my first choice of pedal but I still like it 🙂
Curios why you have the Gibson logo taped up?? Great video other wise
Wow this must have taken a lot of time to edit
Why yes I actually did it twice
@@victorthomsen8520😂 I see what you did there
if you like this tone, (and want it in an amp) check out a Jet City Amp. They nail this sound and much more affordable than Soldano amps.
@@infn8loopmusic I have one in my music room right now....glorious!
The SLO is a legend.

When you spend a half hour demoing a pedal, it either has a gazillion knobs and switches OR you really really like it…well done Andy👍
Yeah, it shocked me and opened up a new world. Expect to see it a lot in future
This makes me want to buy a deluxe reverb more than anything 😂 First big paycheck, I'm off to Thomann!
im sorry, but why exactly?
this guy makes me think if Joey Ramone and Napolean Dynamite had a baby
The SLO mini amp head has the overdrive and crunch channels. I'd really like to see a back to back of that preamp against this pedal.
So would I!
@@TheGuitarGeek If you open up the Slo mini..... its a 9v overdrive pedal - with an add card bearing a 22v / 30W poweramp.

Fun fact - Normal means Right Angle means Upstanding
I love myself some Maiden... ❤
I always thought the SLO was meant to be the ultimate 80s Hot-rod Plexi / JCM800 style amp
I called it my white widdow, it kills all other gain sounds!

I have the original SLO pedal. I could compare it to a Boss BD2. But with a lot more tone shaping.
Videos are always better with Maiden!
Soldano + P90 sounds criminal guys.......
two channel version of original,
like the Diezel VH4 pedal.
nice separate gains/volumes tho
Sweet Soldano saturation mmmmm
I’ve played a soldano astroverb and it was glorious!!!!
And now all I can think about is how Metallica took the start of "... And Justice For All" from Maiden's "Number of the Beast" ...

That Maiden riff makes me wanna jump to Spotify right away. Haven't heard them in ages!!!
"Anything but Normal" @2:19 would be a great name for a pedal... or a band.
as would "Extra Normal Channel" 27:30
Lol - dam I (now) own the amp but not the pedal.....we should have met for nachos before this 😉
Okay I don't see this pedal at any of the links. They have the older one but not this pedal. Anyone know where I can purchase one? Awesome video 🎸🤘🏻
@@DarylT64 same here can’t find it anywhere. Wont even come up in a google search
@ I wonder if it is even out yet.

"Not quite british, not quite American" is on point. Should we dub this the "Atlantic-tone" for anything in this ballpark? 🤔
There's clearly not enough knobs on that pedal.
Correct. There's room for another row!
@11000038 yes, the more complicated the better. I mean, why bother having a ton of knobs on the amp.

Sounds like a muffled wooly mess. No thanks.

Your tone is really muddy dude. Just sayin
