I see Calli being wonderful and I think "How can people hate her? Because of the raps?". That woman works hard. She will go out of her way to help out her friends and loved ones. We need more people like that.
She's always looking out for other Holo Talents and even some of the people she knows outside of Holo, and she's always striving to be better, and to get better in music, and dancing, and art and everything else. Like, yeah, she had some miss steps in her youth, used some language she shouldn't have, but she learned from it and grew past it. Even if I didn't like her music, I'd have to give her respect. She's more than earned that, at the very least.

And the Ironmouse one is a little long. I was searching for one in the time we had, but they all were well over our time limit. And there are a bunch of us submitting and the ones selected are randomly pulled. But I agree with you, it definitely deserves to be in here. If he does anything close to this theme again I'll try to start a copy pasta about it to show chat's agreement. I don't have any doubts about them agreeing.

10:25 - I will always remember this one match when I used to play comp CS:GO. We were losing HARD, down 13-2 in the first half. My entire team voted to surrender but I told them not to give up, that we can still win the match if we just gave it our all. They were frustrated that I wouldn't vote yes to surrender but I then won us the next 2 rounds and they started to get into it. We ended up pushing things back to 14-14 and we ended up winning in the end. Never felt so good and I hope those 4 I played with felt that same exhilarating feeling

Melody has some banger takes when it comes to understanding yourself and your life, but I think a favorite personal moment has to be the "Look How Far I've Come" short clip from Ironmouse that comes from the New Year's stream.

So many of my favorite vtubers in this clip. I especially liked the Camila clip and the Ollie clip. Camila is very good at streaming. She’s adorable and funny and articulate. She will only get better if she makes content for herself instead of whatever others want. And Ollie - Ollie is so energetic and sweet. She is the biggest fan and supporter of all hololive talent, and you can tell that they adore her. The fact that she can collab with everyone in all 3 branches, due to her great language skills, helps her immensely.

Had to check out Ollie’s cover, yeah it’s not great; but it was her first ever cover and you gotta start somewhere. Also IIRC she wasn’t a singer in the first place and used to have massive impostor syndrome about being in hololive at all, but she couldn’t ask for more supportive colleagues and fans.
the one that halted Ollie's growth is herself and her attitude towards new viewers. Ollie is 100% native Indonesians, but and the start of her careers she was distant towards Indonesians viewer. and she made it worse by mocking new viewers to learn English to understand her words. I know learning English is good, but she can simply translate it on the spot and avoid clashing with her new viewers. It made her grow very slow initially. Imagine clashing with your potential viewer as a hololive ID (Indonesia) vtuber, as an Indonesians native, and to Indonesian people. It should be an career ending mistake. But thankfully some ID people continued to support Ollie. and thanks to Ollie English, she got USD superchat which really helped her at her early career.

@@tommy.eklund it's mostly forgotten now. It's an artefact and cover is making sure that no new or existing vtuber on their corporation is making the same mistakes as Ollie again. It was an echo chamber between pro-english viewers and Ollie herself that really wiped out most of her needed growth.
I've just realized something. How come with how much tech has advanced over the years, most vtubers have even less movement than a ventriloquist dummy; just a limp-ish stiff (well, jiggly) body hanging from a barely expressive face? Is it like an artistic decision ?t Do they do it to allow the performer to not have to worry about body language and focus mostly on voice? Is it to hide they're busy operating manual controls for toggles and stuff slumped on a computer chair? I'm pretty sure there's already apps that can do some basic full-body tracking with just a webcam; and even if you discard the 3d and rotation data you would still have more control over the avatars...
It's a cost thing. Vtube models and the amount of rigging you see right now is like $5000. They are getting better though and they mostly focus on the face. Kiara debuted a new model that the facial expressions are actually tracked for the most part rather than toggles. You can literally see her chew/pout in real time, plus other things.
@@edrimuspage9667 I understand for things like more extreme or stylized stuff you might need some manual work to create; but why isn't it just a matter of marking what's lips, what's eyes, what's shoulders, what's elbows, what's hands etc, and have it auto-rigged? Isn't there a free online service for 3d models that does auto-rigging for body parts? Doesn't seem like basic stuff couldn't be automated... I understands there's room for all sorts of polish artists could add to rigging, additional shape keys, toggles etc; but I find it really surprising most vtubers are just barely expressive faces with stiff bodies hanging from it... But how such a big industry hasn't spawned some smart systems to do some basic auto-rigging; or even if it's a matter of just manually fitting some basic face mesh over drawings, placing bones in place and such for the limbs etc. With just the addition of a border-line decent tracking script and some minimal setup wizards for folks less inclined to read the documentation or explore the tools on their own; and some preset scene for greenscreening or whatever, sounds like Blender could itself be pretty decent vtuber app, and not much would need to be done different for 2d and 3d...

I want to see Holo highlighting more smaller VTubers, collabs and such, i know the company is protective of their talents and doesn't want to encounter any controversy, but they really do stand at the top of the industry and inspired so many. Who doesn't want to watch people hang out with their heroes.
That's one aspect that Vshojo and Phase has over HoloLive, they're less restrictive in outside interaction and it does open them up to more unique interactions.

Firstly If you look at any of the past 200+ episodes there are A TON of indies. This just happened to be a lot of Hololive for this particular theme and episode. Secondly I do not choose the clips the chat submits them and they are randomly picked. Third I think the phase girls are some of the top VTubers submitted to these react segments so I have no idea what you are talking about.
Nagzz even checks that too there are indies in this one plenty. Try join the stream and submit a clip it's hard, but also nij is banned unti things chill out

Had to check out Ollie’s cover, yeah it’s not great; but it was her first ever cover and you gotta start somewhere. Also IIRC she wasn’t a singer in the first place and used to have massive impostor syndrome about being in hololive at all, but she couldn’t ask for more supportive colleagues and fans.
the one that halted Ollie's growth is herself and her attitude towards new viewers. Ollie is 100% native Indonesians, but and the start of her careers she was distant towards Indonesians viewer. and she made it worse by mocking new viewers to learn English to understand her words. I know learning English is good, but she can simply translate it on the spot and avoid clashing with her new viewers.
It made her grow very slow initially. Imagine clashing with your potential viewer as a hololive ID (Indonesia) vtuber, as an Indonesians native, and to Indonesian people.
It should be an career ending mistake. But thankfully some ID people continued to support Ollie. and thanks to Ollie English, she got USD superchat which really helped her at her early career.

@@tommy.eklund it's mostly forgotten now. It's an artefact and cover is making sure that no new or existing vtuber on their corporation is making the same mistakes as Ollie again.
It was an echo chamber between pro-english viewers and Ollie herself that really wiped out most of her needed growth.

I've just realized something. How come with how much tech has advanced over the years, most vtubers have even less movement than a ventriloquist dummy; just a limp-ish stiff (well, jiggly) body hanging from a barely expressive face? Is it like an artistic decision ?t Do they do it to allow the performer to not have to worry about body language and focus mostly on voice? Is it to hide they're busy operating manual controls for toggles and stuff slumped on a computer chair? I'm pretty sure there's already apps that can do some basic full-body tracking with just a webcam; and even if you discard the 3d and rotation data you would still have more control over the avatars...
It's a cost thing. Vtube models and the amount of rigging you see right now is like $5000. They are getting better though and they mostly focus on the face. Kiara debuted a new model that the facial expressions are actually tracked for the most part rather than toggles. You can literally see her chew/pout in real time, plus other things.
@@edrimuspage9667 I understand for things like more extreme or stylized stuff you might need some manual work to create; but why isn't it just a matter of marking what's lips, what's eyes, what's shoulders, what's elbows, what's hands etc, and have it auto-rigged? Isn't there a free online service for 3d models that does auto-rigging for body parts? Doesn't seem like basic stuff couldn't be automated...
I understands there's room for all sorts of polish artists could add to rigging, additional shape keys, toggles etc; but I find it really surprising most vtubers are just barely expressive faces with stiff bodies hanging from it... But how such a big industry hasn't spawned some smart systems to do some basic auto-rigging; or even if it's a matter of just manually fitting some basic face mesh over drawings, placing bones in place and such for the limbs etc. With just the addition of a border-line decent tracking script and some minimal setup wizards for folks less inclined to read the documentation or explore the tools on their own; and some preset scene for greenscreening or whatever, sounds like Blender could itself be pretty decent vtuber app, and not much would need to be done different for 2d and 3d...
@@edrimuspage9667 Someone needs to take up cgtinker's BlenderArMocap project and bring it up to the standards for vtubers; seems like quite a lot of the work is already done there on the tracking side...

@@topazokenni4869 Fillian is high-tech though, or at least mid-to-high (most of the time I don't think she got a Vicom mocap setup or even something like a Rococo suit like CodeMiko, just VR trackers). But either way, that's a much bigger budget than what's being discussed here, just using webcam and some free apps to animate drawings live.
edit: Correction, Miko got another tech, or at least uses it sometimes, I forgot the name, maybe she uses Rococo sometimes, but at least originally, her 40 grand system was from adifferent company, lemme see if I can find the name. edit2: Found it: Xsens

I want to see Holo highlighting more smaller VTubers, collabs and such, i know the company is protective of their talents and doesn't want to encounter any controversy, but they really do stand at the top of the industry and inspired so many.
Who doesn't want to watch people hang out with their heroes.
That's one aspect that Vshojo and Phase has over HoloLive, they're less restrictive in outside interaction and it does open them up to more unique interactions.

Firstly If you look at any of the past 200+ episodes there are A TON of indies. This just happened to be a lot of Hololive for this particular theme and episode.
Secondly I do not choose the clips the chat submits them and they are randomly picked.
Third I think the phase girls are some of the top VTubers submitted to these react segments so I have no idea what you are talking about.
