    I just bought a 2013 2500 cummins to build last night! Going from a 4runner to a cummins, i am excited, nervous and a little intimidated. Your build is awesome!

      Nothing to be nervous about, it is a great platform. Difficult to compare to how agile a 4 Runner is, but I have not ran into any issues I have not been able to overcome with my Ram.

    Massive respect for doing your own build your own way. I kinda hate seeing these guys plop down 100k for a truck. I mean, I wanna do that stuff myself. You have to be pretty specific for what you want a truck that big to be able to do. Thinking you are gonna get it to just go off road anywhere is so silly. They are amazing trucks, I own one, but wow, weight is unreal and you gotta consider that. But, if you are realistic about it, you can get that bad boy in some incredible situations and beautiful locations. I’m a huge fan of your set up. Very nice rig!

    love your truck.... I just started my 2020 RAM 6.7 Build. and I agree with you I went with AEV.. and skipped the AEV suspension and went with Carli kit. I'm going to go with 40s. check out my build if you get the chance. I went with the AEV back bumper set up but will go with a Wilcox tailgate will a full-size spare. My extra fuel comes from a Titan replacement tank and a secondary tank. 80+ gals. I see we thing very similar. ill watch the rest of your vids.

    I see you have one of the swing out bed storage box. I have a pair in mine and they are good and bad. Not as tough as I thought they would be. And they don't seal so great plus lots of condensation.

      Yep, they are definitely love hate, but needed some minimal storage for lubricants, straps, etc.

    I find these builds interesting. I have a 2005 QC 4WD short bed with 285/75/17s, KO2s and only a one inch leveling lift in the front. Otherwise stock. Have a full topper and a twin size bed with a 6 inch mattress in the back. Has hauled us over Engineer Pass just fine as well as many other trips. Really enjoy boondocking....

      I had those tires on my truck, but maybe they weren't the ko2 version, back then too. 2004 truck. They were LR-D 8 ply and they eventually separated, I've used 10 ply tires since and no issues. I see that they now come as 10 ply .

    How many miles in those general grabber MT's? Still quiet? I've had 35" Toyo open country MT's and they were quiet for about 8k miles on my ram, then it was hard to talk in the cab. I've got ATKO2's now. The BFG's are still quiet after 10k miles but not great in heavy rain - they tend to hydroplane.

    Researching for my future build and I’ve come to the same conclusion AEV front number has the cleanest look. Suspension either AEV or Carli. I would upgrade to locking hubs and go ahead and upgrade to greaseable ball joints. ARB front and rear diff locks. I would get the AEV vented hood because I plans to play in the desert. The daughters are just going to need their own tent. Check out insulated pop up tent like they use at burning man festive

      If you have the rear LS you could just do the front ARB locker and probably get by without issue.

    hey my zeon warn 12000 that came stock from factory on my power wagon. is more than enough. and more so with a snatch block or blocks. love my locking front and rear diffs

      Is it true that when unlocked the differentials on power wagon function as torsen limited slips? If so, that’s so damn cool. I wanna source some and just bolt em right in on my Cummins. The ones with the 4.10s not the 4.56. That would be ideal for my needs.

      I have not updated my fuel tank, but I am looking at Titan Aux Tank that would mount in the spare tire location.

    AEV wheels do not have the same offset as factory wheels. Your factory wheels have a +57mm offset, the AEVs are +27mm.

    Do you have your rear Rigid auxiliary lights wired so that they come on when your transmission is in reverse or are they wired to a separate switch so you can turn them on and off whenever you want? TY

    Have you looked for an auxiliary fuel tank that would fit where the spare tire used to go?

      I have not, but I did retain the factory DEF tank when I deleted the truck and thought about re-plumbing it as aux fuel.

      Not an air intake per say, it is a snorkel. It does however go straight to the intake. Although I do water crossing I never intend to go that deep, if anything it’s purpose is to suck in clean air from the atmosphere vs the dusty air that can be stirred up by in the engine fan in the motor bay.

    I am curious about the delete. Though as you are one of my main concerns was limp mode. But my true concern is when heading south of the border finding def or ULS Diesel. With the current cutdown on deletes those concerns me. As right now we where looking at the 2500 xl Prospector and Diesel Gladiator for our next build. Though if it becomes where I would be unable to do this delete then I would have to go another route. Especially since it mitigate me being able to use the truck as a true overlander and completing the PanAmerican.

      You are correct more and more companies are offing less "Delete Kits", but you can still put one together. Prior to my truck being deleted I did experience the pre-stages of limp mode. I got a message in my message center telling me to see dealer for DEF service and the truck would derate in 200miles. After having the dealer warranty cover this service I decided to delete in order to avoid this happening in the future. The trucks delete includes the DPF filter replacing the entire exhaust with a 4" stainless turbo back with stainless muffler, EGR and cooler system as well as the throttle valve. I am running a Race ME Tuner in order to fool the truck in thinking all removed components are still in place. I recommend removing and having you DEF tank steamed/cleaned and putting back in as you can re-plumb this tank to be an aux fuel tank or for portable water storage. With the tuner I have been able to achieve 23mpg highway on 35's.

    I would like to know more about you bed cover with the tent. I’ve been looking something like that where I can carry a tent and still be able to have a bed cover.

      My bed cover is a G2 BackFlip. If you went with something modular like my setup you could use just about any kind of bed cover of your choosing permitting that the bed cover did not go completely cover your bed sides. I will be glad to put a video up on this.

    I just ordered this bumper for my 18 3500 but held off on the winch since they said only the 16.5 or M12/15 would fit. I would love to use an EVO 10K with wireless control for about $750. Did you have to do any modifications for yours to fit? Thanks a million.

    Nice build I have the same Ram, but I cant find those Rhino 75" or 76" long heavy duty cross bars anywhere. Do you have a model number or anything? Thanks! Or where did you got them. All I see is 71" which is way too short.

    So what is this bag on the spare tire for? Is the spare on the rear because of extra fuel tank or because large tire won't fit underneath? I like that you have a list mount on the tent, not above the cab height.

      The bag on the spare is a trash bag and the spare is on the back due to oversized tire. I will be adding an additional fuel tank.

      I did look at the AEV suspension when considering this build, but did not want to use spacers. The Carli offers better travel and comfort.

    What 15-16k winches are out there? Gear driven I assume?

      Warn makes the 16.5k, not sure of the drive mechanism. What I know about my currently equipped Zeon 12k is it is water sealed and is pretty straight forward install permitting you have a winch plate or bumper that will accept. Positive and negative straight to the battery and when you plug in the remote it makes the bridge/remote that activates. Great winch for the money.

      Depends on what you want to do. If you haul heavy, get a Cummins, if you haul light and want more offroad performance, get a Power wagon. The 6.4 hemi is strong, but you can definitely feel the strain hauling a big load up a hill and fuel mileage sucks when hauling.

      To be brutally honest, being there were limited options on the Ram Platform for swing-out bumpers with tire carriers, when I came across Expedition One, it checked all the boxes and I searched no longer. This bumper has been solid with zero issues after nearly 6yrs. I am very happy with it and would recommend to anyone.

      My bumper was purchased through AEV and no it will not fit a 1500, however I believe they do have a 1500 option. Check out AEV’s website.

      @@Motoworkx80 Carli is much more expensive and for the AEV, it has to be a later 2013 for their suspension to work. The Carli and Thueren are top notch but very expensive. Those king shocks are mega bucks.

      @runndmm I am the owner of the truck just replying off my other TH-cam account. You are correct in 2 aspects, The AEV lifts are designed for the 14 and newer coil spring rear suspension trucks and yes the Carli route is a much more expensive choice for either. When I said the cost of the Carli suspension is a more prohibitive cost over the AEV I was in agreement with your reply, it is a much more expensive cost over the AEV. When I was determining suspensions of choice for this build, I wanted something that provided not just lift, but comfort, articulation and that aided in a fun driving experience off road. It’s important when lifting a truck of this size and towing capacity you predetermine what your intentions are I.e. you want a lifted truck, but only plan to take it off-road on occasions or still want to keep your towing capacity? If this is the case I recommend a reputable spacer lift such as AEV that allows you to keep factory towing capacity and driving habits. Choosing to go with something like the Carli does impact the factory towing capacities with softer springs rates and a bit more body roll which could be dangerous if towing a heavy load. If someone just wants to hit a dirt road on the weekends and doesn’t see any travel outside regular forestry roads I would not recommend spending the additional money on a high-end lift. You can piece together a nice lift of parts from reputable venders and get a great ride with factory characteristics and capacities. However, if you feel you want to take your travels to the next level which may require flex and articulation in order to keep traction of a big heavy full-size such as the Ram 2500 platform, it will come at a cost. At the end of the day full-size trucks will always suffer from weight and wheel base. When lifting them for Off-road Adventure or Overland travel the key is in your approach/departure angles, center frame ground clearance and something that is forgotten often, your clearance of your axles with the only remedy being tire size for your axles which brings in a whole other set of needs in your gearing. First quarter of 2020 I will be putting the Ram under a face lift with a cutting saw and cramping a set of 40’s under it.

      Doug Garber hey brother, thanks for watching the video. The steering gear box brace I am running on the Ram is a BD Diesel. If you intend on using the Carli Torsion Bar like it did you will have to modify some of the brace. Most of these braces loop under the sway bar where the bearing mounts to the pitman arm, this one loops above and is a separate piece where are these are usually welded. I had to grind about 5mm of the medal out of this piece to allow for the clearance needed for the torsion bar. I routinely pre and post trip my truck and have noticed no degradation or structural issues to this modification.

      My running board are GoRhino brand. They are aluminum and flex when stepping on them. However they due serve as steps and as long as you are stepping up with them they are fine. Best benefit of them is keeping rocks from hitting the side of your truck. I am in the process of getting some rock sliders.

      adam parker hi Adam, this is Darl just replying to you from my other channel. The running boards are Go Rhino. Although I don’t recommend them unless you are just needing a step. They are aluminum and can very easily bend.
