"A DIY turtle basking platform made from scrap materials sounds like a brilliant project! 🐢✨ It’s always amazing to see creative ways to reuse materials for something practical. Can’t wait to see how your turtle enjoys their new basking spot! 🌿🔨"
Is there anything you can't do? Never mind, that's a rhetorical question. You never cease to amaze me. But it's more than that. You're always so in tune with all your pets needs, and you're always making things better for them. Amazing man.😊❤😘🐸🐢
Love the nature @ home! Looking for more videos from this channel. Enjoy learning and seeing how creative you are. If I we're in PA, I would hire you to help me put together an exquisite aquarium.
boy this brought back memories. raising turtles from the size of a 50 cent piece to dinner plate size was a great experience. I made many a basking docks, never like the ones they had in the store so finding different materials was fun. thanks for sharing
LOVE this!!! I was going to recommend a walk up basking area in the last video you shared them. I've seen a lot of people build their own and I knew it would be right up your alley 😊 if they don't like the plastic, you can put astroturf on it. One recommendation is to upgrade your UVB to a linear bulb at some point. Arcadia is a fantastic brand. Linear UVB is much better for reptiles. The good ones only have to be replaced 1x/year instead of every 6 months. Fun fact - crocadilians have scutes as well 🐊
You have so many interesting talents!! Has your turtle ever gotten out?? Echo is so chill!! Lol!! He's recharging!! That's a great basking platform! He's sure checking everything out!! They sure can move in the water!! Is it the smell/feel of the plastic?? They seem fine with the wood...oh!!! He's up there!! 👏👏👏 This was fun to watch!!! 💕
On a farm, never done with projects. Back then i had active kids in sports+ part-time job, room mother, husband who was home days, was involved lots of things too
I hope that plastic isn’t getting to hot for their toes. I know them basking lamps can get hot as heck under them sun lamps, when we had our baby tortoises in the 50 gal tank for their first yr, even the sand was getting rather hot. Yep we had to raise the lamp. So you may want to on that also, because the plastic will get way hotter than the wood.. yes turtles and tortoises always want to escape aka the grass is always green syndrome. lol tfs
Oh my gosh, they love it. It turned out so so so good better than I could even imagine I was trying to think of what you were gonna end up making and as you’re making it I was like no way… You got more done and I was like no no way… it was just perfect like you went to the store and spent a bunch of money on it. It looks so perfect and it looks like it works. Perfect good job Cody. That’s so awesome. I love watching your brain put things together.
…lol… working on the project , that would be my exact reaction, it’s Monday morning and I’ve got a project of my own ,but I am going to give me 15 minutes of tablet time, made me laugh after spray can was out; 🤔 on and went to a different process 😊 Beautiful morning “Everyone enjoy the day” you too all the Echo pups of the world 🐶🌎🐷🐽🐷🐐🌾🐐🐔🐣🦆🪸🐢🪷🐠🦃🌽🦃🐓🌾🐓🦢🦢⛲️ the pond geyser ⛲️😊😊😊
If Stripe got enough momentum running down from the back barnyard, could he have bounced off of something over the fence? I love the basking area, just took a little time to get used to it. Have you heard of comfort grips for spray cans? They turn cans into trigger style applicators, I got one for a friend of mine and he said it was a game changer for stopping hand cramps and giving more control.
I’ve got a silly question. Could you save the dirty water from the ducks swimming pool to water the willows ect. ? Or would it just be too much work? 🎉❤
It would be too much work, and a very rich fertilizer that could only be added periodically so out wouldn't burn. The willow in the pond just draws what it needs.
@@WhittAcres I guess I didn't think about it, they could climb out of the pond and go for a walk. I just saw a video on them being an invasive species and they can live for 80 years and grow quite large. I wasn't sure if this type of turtle liked having it's back scratched and I was surprised when I saw some giant tortoise in the zoo getting brushed. I didn't even know they could feel through their shell.

Thank you!
Turtles are so relaxing to watch. I'd probably set my bed so I could watch them every night as I goto sleep.
They go to sleep at night and are less active with the lights off. I can watch the fish from my bed though.
Man i really enjoyed watching you work and create the ramp for the turtles ❤❤❤❤ genius
You make all your animals interesting and well taken care of.
You create so many things for your animals.

Right on
Good Morning Cody 🥰
Morning!
✌ Great stuff ... Thanks for sharing. 🙏
Hey Cody, Anyone tell you that you’ve got the voice of the Motel 6 guy who said, “We’ll leave the light on.” Exactly that!
Nope, first time
They were looking the platform over maybe thinking you put food for them to eat
It’s like one turtle kept showing the other how to get up there.
❤️✌️🙏👍
Man of many talents Echopup looks gorgeous pup with cute toes its funny when he was frolickin with the cheeky goats 😮😊😅😅❤❤😅😅😅🤣🤣😄☔☔🤣🤣😄☔🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺

Is there a window in that room the Turtles are in maybe in tge Sumner you can move there tank by it so they can see the sun rise and set🌞

He's not capable of getting over the fence. And for big jobs that might be a good idea, thanks!

@@WhittAcres 👍❤️
Hes hoping the fence
I was just wondering if the platform is too warm maybe thats why it stays on the wood more
Nope, just new
@WhittAcres thanks for the reply Cody 🙏
I wonder if the surface is getting a little bit too warm under the light just cause he keeps getting down
🫶👍😎
Is it true turtles like to have their shell brushed? Would they ever be able to take day trips out to the pound?
Never tried, and no, they are invasive in my area and must stay in containment
