Maxim Mikhaylov is one of the best volleyball player of all time, You will never see play with arrogance and swag, he always humbled himself inside the court.
HE IS SO DOWN TO EARTH. AND OF COURSE THE BEST IN HIS POSITION.
My national team Brasil has many qualities historically, but maybe the most persistent one is that we've always had the best setters, even our subs are amazing and among the best in the history of voleyball

For everybody arguing why Zaitsev or Kurek aren’t on the list, just look at the stats and what Mikhailov has accomplished : 5x Champions League, 2x Champions League MVP, 5x Champions League best opposite, 1x Olympic medal, 5x Russian Championship, 5x Russian Cup, 5x Russian SuperCup, and much more... so please, it’s FACTS he is the best opposite of this decade

I have to agree with you completely. Mikhailov's key strength is his consistency. Zaitsev and Kurek are prone to errors with their playing styles.
But if we judge by their individual skills zaitsev and kurek are better

Não querendo desmerecer o Bruninho, mas depois de ver a mesma sincronia com o cachopa e com o William, acho que isso é devido a habilidade do Lucão de sempre dar um jeito de estar pronto na melhor posição, tmbm tem o fato de termos historicamente os melhores levantadores, mesmo os substitutos.

I don't even feel like arguing. Sure, you can legitimately argue to substitute any of them but I'm just happy to see what an amazing game volleyball has become over the years.
Couldn't agree more with the team, those are basically the players who have won the most trophies in the past 10 years, also good the choice of earvin, because his playing style is so unique and will be the future of volleyball

Zaytsev is a legendary player individually, but we also have to look at the player's achievements for his club and national team. Those on the list are better players and won multiple trophies for their clubs and national teams including Olympic gold medals. Zaytsev's best chance for Italy was at the 2016 Olympics when they were beaten by Brazil in the Gold Medal match

I guess it mostly depends on preferences... it would be a really hard-fought battle to pick out the best player of an entire decade in each position played In volleyball since there are more than 2 or 3 that are literally leveled up or it's merely impossible to deside who we should settle for. In fact I would bet that the only one position we all agree about is libero with Genia, beyond that we have opposites such as Atanasijevic, Zaitsev, Wallace, Anderson that have shown an incredible level since this decade began, the same comes up when talking about Outside Hitters with Juantorena, Middles with Simon and so on... then in my opinion this would be my team:
Middles: Simon and Musersky
Outside Hitters: Wilfredo Leon and Juantorena
Opposite: Anderson
Setter: Micah Christenson
Libero: Genia Grevenikov
For me Ngapeth & Juantorena need to be in for their talent and what they have done, but you simply cannot ignore Leon
@@gusvanhaelst1853 in my opinion Leon is the Best outside hitter over all, I ruled Ngapeth out because for me he is just an extroverted player but we can never compare Ngapeth with Leon or Juantorena, Leon gave a lot of trophies and tournaments to Zenit and he was the MVP in the most of them, the same happens with Juantorena and Lube but Ngapeth... I mean this year he hasn't even lived up to what Leon had been doing in Kazan in recent years and when it comes to determination and sureness we all know who stands out... it is just my opinion, because if we talk about complete players we can't dismiss Sander since he almost always has the best reception percentage at VNL every year not to mention his amazing talent when talking about spiking... well for me Leon and Juantorena can not be replaced in this team. Greetings.
@@javiervargas3578 It's a nonsense to blame Ngapeth for this year's deceptive Kazan. Mykhailov in outside hitter didn't worked very well, middle bockers were quite useless and Butko not really good.
With a good team, he won 3 trophies on a single year, though. Against Juantorena. He put France's team on the top, with stunning performances since 2014. I will put Leon as the best, but for me it's a tie between Ngapeth and Juantorena for the second spot on the court. Maybe if Juantorena had a mor intense international history...

Zaytsev is a beast but Mikhailov is the best opposite of the last decade and might be one of the best ever. Olympic Gold and 1/3 of Zenit Kazan’s killer wing trio. That’s a legacy

Good ranking. Mikhailov as best opposite wouldn't have come to mind at first when thinking of the best opposite of the decade, but than again, he's Mr. Consistency. There might be players more spectacular on this position like Zaytsev, Kurek, de Souza or Poletaev but it is only Mikhailov who never seems to be making mistakes.
With regard to the setter it might have been a tough choice because this decade brought forth so many good setters like Bruno, De Cecco, Marouf or Christenson, but overall I think Bruno is the best one. However, I think that the best setter of the upcoming decade will be Giannelli and he will be even better than those mentionned above.
The others are very obvious choices in my opinion and not debatable.
Totally agree about Mikhailov. He's not a flashy player like some of the others but gives his best match after match instead of running hot/cold.
It's not about being flashy...... The most successful player is the one who gets the job done..... And Maxim is superior due to his consistency

Leal should definitely be there instead of Ngapeth. 4x Clubs World Champion, 5x Brazilian League Champion, 1x Champions League Champion, 1x Italian League Champion, 4x Clubs South American Champion, 3x Brazilian Cup Champion, 3x Brazilian Supercup Champion, 2x Clubs World Cup MVP, and thats just what i know from memory, there are certainly more titles and individual awards. i really love Earvin N'gapeth but he just does not deserve to be in this list when Yoandy Leal would be a way better option

@@in05vnitro Juantorena was the best outside hitter of this decade since 2010, during his year in Trento, until 2020 all the statistics and all the trophies that he achived are here to prove it ( example: leon is now probably the strongest but it start to be a great player in the middle of 2014) so he doesn't make any sense to say that is strong just recently

En nivel de juego, creo estan parejos. Simplemente es que tipo de juego te gusta mas. Pero No se compara lo que ha logrado uno y el otro. Maxim a ganado todo a nivel clubes y casi todo con selección (olimpiadas, WL, NL, campeonato europeo, copa del mundo), le falta mundial. Zaysev tiene finales pero no gana con Italia. A nivel de clubes tiene logros, pero igual no se compara.
Tomas Di Napoli yeah about Mikhailov has been carrying Kazan for 10 years. Anderson wouldn’t have won anything if it wasn’t for Mikailov and Leon. Ans I won’t even talk about Ngapeth in Kazan, it’s a waste of time

Last night, just an hour before this video, i posted my dream team version. Its has four differences. Atanajisevic as OpH, Kovacevic instead of Leon, Simon instead of Musersky. The fourth difference is that mine would win hahaha

Kovacevic is not pushing Leon out of this team are you kidding? If an outside is getting pushed out it'd probably be N'gapeth for either Juantorena, Kovacevic, or Lucarelli. Wallace, Zaytsev, Mikhaylov, Atanajisevic, and even Anderson are all up there for Opp (Wallace has won the most in the past 10 years and I'd take him), but Leon is solidly one of the top 2 outsides there's no question. Simon and Muserskiy are both amazing but Muserskiy has won more on the int'l stage so I'd have to give him the edge.
