some of these are actually because of different adaptations like they mentioned with the Mirror Mirror. You guys have GOT to go to Dragon Con. It's similar to Comic Con, for the East Coast. It's huge. Anything you are in to: Star Wars, Star Trek, fantasy, comics, movies, costuming, TH-cam, etc is represented. There are celeb panels, concerts, dances- I go simply because the costumes come up with are AMAZING. I'm talking animatronics, lights- check out pictures. It's an amazing people watching experience. Giant Halloween party.
No idea why it is called "Dragon" con, you'd have to ask the creators. :) All I know is that it's one of the largest conventions in the world. I'm not full into any fandom X, really, but from an artist standpoint, just going for the costumes in totally worth it.
