On the other hand, the railroad industry (which provides technology, construction, and rolling stock) in the United States is dead, and what little remains is decades behind what is currently offered in the international market. And their policy and way of creating public works projects is literally ruinous and obsolete, they build very very expensively and also deliver very very very late.

The problem is that basically every company already refunds the cost of driving to work so they would just refund the additional charge too. And if they add a toll on some road, people will simply avoid that road. The *only* way to reduce traffic, and I do mean the *only* way, is to provide an alternative. Good public transport. Sadly that is expensive, it's much more profitable to tax drivers.

Just like how I REFUSE to pay for fat and poor people to get healthcare. There is no benefit to me at all to justify the expense in my taxes.
