I have the G19 and the Canik TP9SA. The Canik is the better weapon imo

I personally own both of these had guns along with aTP9SF and the TP40 V2 . The decocker is a non issue you have to want to decock it for the decoker to become useful! The trigger on my Caniks are far superior to those of my Glocks ! I must be honest I have changed from carrying Glock daily to carrying a Canik daily ! It's just a better weapon !

Good comparison. I have a V2 and a G22 so size and function is the same as your review. For the value you really can not beat the Canik.

I have the TP9SA. I do really like this firearm. I have never had an issue had an issue with the striker release on top of the slide as it does take a definite effort to push down. So far I have 500 rounds through it and have not had any issues. The durability I can not attest to as only time will be able to tell. According to the factory information they have fired thousands of rounds without any issues.

I have never understood why a person would want to pull the trigger to take a gun apart so for me one of the reasons I bought a tp9 sa was the decocker it doesn't get in the way and it wont just decock itself . I think glocks are ok guns but they don't bring enough to the table for that extra 2 hundred bucks heck for a extra 100 bucks I can have his and hers Caniks so for me it was the Canik all the way.

The Canik TP9SF Elite eliminates the slide mounted decocker and is both shorter in OAL and in height. It has a trigger that functions far superior to any other striker fired pistol I have observed. The trigger resets are just right; short crisp breaking trigger resets make the difference between a good trigger and a very good trigger. I'll reserve the excellent to outstanding descriptive wording for future generations.

I'm curious regarding the Canik ceasing to include three mags with their pistols. I still have advertisments for the Canik I downloaded when they first showed up indicating three magazines came with them along with the goodies it still includes for $299.00.

I think the glock 19 x and the tp9 are about the same. Both real good pistols.

imo, the canik is just as nice with a far better trigger more comfortable grip and better looks. only thing negative anyone has to say about it is the decocker that can leave the gun dead which i dont see as a problem since you have to be pretty deliberate to depress it. second is that its made in turkey which is strictly political

Dirk Diggler the factory where the Canik is manufactured meets the new standard for quality assurance that used to be the ISO6001 and is now meeting the 9009 standards, meaning they subject themelves to a very strict standard and regularly sample parts as well a complete pistols then subjecting each to numerous and vigorous testing. I wouldn't mind owning one of every TP9/TP40 in the series.

What's with the comment about the Canik having steel inserts in the receiver for the slide? That makes no sense in a head to head comparison with any Glock. They need those rails for reasons that shouldn't need explaining to any seasoned pistol shooter. Other than that I think this was a pretty decent video review and comparison between two very nice striker fired pistols.

Hey thanks for watching and for commenting. The comment about the steel guide rails in both pistols was a comparison point. The steel reinforcements in the Canik guide rails are very short - much shorter compared to the Glock,, which has steel reinforcement almost in the entirety of the guide rails. This is a concern to me for the Canik, as the guide rails are the main contact point with the slide as it moves under heavy force backwards and forwards during firing. I am concerned that the main area of the rails (being polymer) might not hold up over time with sustained use. This comparison point is the reason I mentioned the rails. Thanks again for watching and I really appreciate your feedback!

he was saying the two tabs were smallish compared to the 4 pieces of steel railing on the glock. pay attention and quit feeling the need to complain when you don't understand.

This is the worst reply. Do you even shoot. The canik trigger is so much better. Feels better in the hand is cheaper and has been proven to be a little more accurate than a Glock. Metal sights not cheap plastic. Get off your Glock train buddy
