2:45 Not true....Chuck Taylors were a casual worn shoe outside the gym since at least the 50s. The 1960s the most popular sneaker was chucks. The lesser expensive sneakers for younger kids were PF Flyers or US Keds. I wore them all. PFF and USK were only $3 or 4 back in the early mid 60s. Chucks were twice as much so I did a lot of begging to get my first pair at twice the cost. Once I got Chucks it was the only sneaker I purchased from then on. Plus they are just a nice looking classic sneaker.

I just got my first pair Converse shoes with a friend's recommendation. They are quite comfortable and indeed get good grasp at the bottom of the shoes, so I am going to wear it while playing basketballs.

Went from classic red Chucks to red and white Weapons with rwd and white laces to plain canvas All Star loafers (domestic is what we call that colour and the pair had no laces)...
I am rocking a pair of Joe Cools now and have NY Yankees PinStripes among my collection...😂

I got my first pair of Chucks around 67' or 68' still in elementary school, they were about $7 or 8 a pair. I still have a pair now from the early mid 80s when they were still made in USA by the original Converse co. before Nike bought them and moved to China. I refuse to buy Chinese Chucks.

Don't sell those shoes & nobody wears them. They should be worth some money if they're in good condition. Just saw one from the 70s sell for $3,500..
