Good chance, if it's been well characterized and has only metals and the like. But if, for example, there are underlying volatile contaminants, they could pose a vapor-intrusion risk for residential structures even if overlying soil is removed.

Yeah, but they’re really special trucks that were totally designed for this specific type of toxic substance. And they are only used for this specific type of toxic substance. They absolutely won’t be used for any other type of toxic substance, even if they have to sit idle for years and years till there is more of this specific type of toxic substance. Of course they don’t say how and where they will clean every speck of this specific type of toxic substance out of the special trucks after they are done hauling this specific type of toxic substance. I would assume they would clean the special trucks at the location where they have relocated this specific type of toxic substance. Oh man, my fingers are tired and tingling a little. Hope it’s just the typing and I didn’t get some specific type of toxic substance on them, but I might at least get a ride in a special toxic substance truck😅.

This is the 21st century boomer. We don't move shit. We make toxic substance transport plans. Then we make an app to consult the public about the toxic substance transport plan. Then we do a symposium where we discuss the ways to improve the toxic substance transport plan. Then we rename the project form toxic substance transport plan to hazardous waste disposal solution and we start all over again. And again. And again.
We all have sociology, urbanism and management degrees. No one knows how to transport shit, what is this? The 70's?

"In your day" is an exclusionary term that denies equality and aggressively condemns a felow employee by virtue of age or duration of emploment. Within the framework of a multi generational organization all employees ought to be made aware of the divisive nature such aggressive language and concepts have on both the organizational and individual level.
Furthermore the term is espoused with intent to apply previous transgressions both real and assumed from a loosely affiliated group to an individual for the express purpose of undermining legitimate participation by a felow employee.

Older employees aren't equal, they've likely learned the rhythm of the field but they wouldn't be hired if they were applying for an entry level job these days because you need to almost have a scientific understanding of a field to get into even a non-technical job. Example, a lot of oldies in here mocking the hotline. Talking to the community vs. line of communication like a hotline or email - her method allows them to send out a vetted message and protect the business. There is a buffer between them and the community for a reason, people will get a cough and be like lawsuit time - I got a recording that they're cutting corners on contaminate disposal! It doesn't have to be true for reputational damage.

Corporations? As an owner of a corporation we have to actually accomplish things or we go out of business, and our customers have to want what we produce enough to voluntarily exchange their hard earned money for it. Every interaction we have with government is them demanding things with no concept of how to accomplish them, changing the goal posts once you have explained how to solve the problem for them, and never getting fired for their incompetence.

In general people don't get in contact to be nice or say how happy they are. The people that gets in contact either have questions or want to complain. Thats why we have hotlines or refer to material within the public sector. Big corporations do the same. All this said. At all the citiy administrations I have worked at, we ALWAYS talk with our citizens and answer all questions. This is part of being a civil servant. And no one I have ever worked with would behave like this lady. They would answer to the best of their knowledge and then refer to the hotline or webpage if they had more questions.
In my experience, 90 % of the complaints are irrelevant, wrong, exaggerated or seen from a personal perspective and not from a community perspective. Example of the last, "My kids school is being closed down, thats unfair!" When in fact there were like 5 kids at that school that cost 10x as much because of that. Meanwhile there were another school within a not too far distance with space for more students. As a civil servant and politician we have to see to the whole community. That means making decisions that will hurt some and benefit others.
Lastly, in todays society there are also a huge number of what we call rättshaverister in swedish, a person obsessed with obtaining justice for a PERCEIVED injustice that they have experienced in the past. Often the so-called injustice is so far back in the past that it's not really the problem anymore. These people stand for a large portion of the communication to a local government. And they cost huge amounts of tax payers money every year. Hotlines, webpages etc are all ways of dealing with these people so that we basically don't have to have fulltime employees just to answer their questions or, more likely, listen to their stories and complaints.

Work in the public sector much more than a month and you'll be advised by a lot of people within not to speak to the public - generally that's not bad advice for a newbie. Joe public generally has complaints against the government, I think we've all got gripes with the way our government governs (or fails to as is often the case), but what you don't know is how that person will act. Some folks are nice enough and just want to know what's happening, others get aggressive and become dangerous.
