A tip in any amount for me is fine. If you give me $1 or $5 or $10, I'll greatly appreciate it! But even if you don't give me anything, it's ok. It just shows that I while I already provided you the service or whatever you needed me to do, out of the kindness of your heart, you thought that I should get a little extra and that means so much man. That's why tips personally mean a lot for me, because someone thought that I deserved it ❤ But I'd never harass you or something because you didn't tip me. That's just rude.
Why tip someone who have a boss who pay them. It is not my job as a customer to pay the employee. They already got my money. The boss can use that to pay them. End of story. Never tip them. They doing their job.
My son is a server at a restaurant or waiter.. in our state since they get tips they only make like $3 an hour so yes service should get tips or else they basically make nothing. The guy at the front counter giving you Dunkin' donuts coffee for $15 an hour, no tip there.. if you ring me up at any register, no tip there.. in my opinion they should do away with tips like in other countries and have servers make the same wages as everyone else.
Ummm bro got a 5$ tip from 20$ is completely nice what the heck! What a ungrateful lame. And btw these business should be paying these people more!!!!!! It’s ridiculous! If the service was amazing of coarse I’ll tip. I’ve work in the industry where tipping it actually part of it. If you want a tip do great service as well!
Or just better off get rid of tipping like many other countries. Tipping started when servers were making $1/hr and restaurant owners were smart to realize customers would pay their wage… I’m not tipping a server making $80k/year
In Brazil we don't tip and personally as a Brazilian I think tipping is kind of confusing, I mean every time you pay you need to calculate the porcetage
The way that restaurants add tipping options even when you’re not being tended to by a server is just more of these dark patterns that have been cropping up lately. It’s straight up emotional manipulation.
Starbucks is already way overpriced for the average quality drinks & foods they offer (it's essentially a fancy Dunkin' Donuts these days), and they still have the gall to ask for tips? How many mansions/yachts does the Starbucks CEO own at this point?

Yeah we pay decent amount back in taxes, but we also get heart transplant, brainsurgery and anything else healtcare-wise for free, also our infrastructure is insanely good :) Very free & peaceful life (minus the Ukraine - Russian war atm)
@@tangent123456 once & for all, YOUR HEALTHCARE IS NOT FREE! you pay for it, your neighbors pay for it, everyone (well, at least everyone who works, & pays their enormous tax bill) pays for it, no matter how much they do - OR DON'T - use it...please tell me where it's written, that I should be *required* to pay for anyone's healthcare, besides my own, my family's, or anyone I CHOOSE to (via charity) support, or why you should be forced to pay for mine?
@@lauranolastnamegiven3385
I am required for a 37% payment, but I enjoy the benefits of complimentary healthcare, schooling including primary and secondary levels degrees, and additional educational opportunities. May I inquire, what is your financial commitment for healthcare, schooling, and high school? While I recognize that these services come with associated costs, they do serve as a safeguard, preventing families from facing financial bankruptcy when unexpected situations or accidents arise.
5 dollars on 20 dollar pizza that's 25%so screw that door dash guy
When in doubt, don't tip.
I’m so glad i live in Europe . Just pay your employees for goodness sake
Not even pizza delivery people get 5$ and he’s complaining
Fun fact, if you tip from a screen (not in a tip jar) then tip money will NOT go to coworkers, it will go to the business, so the money will be wasted. I think this might be for more famous companies, and not local shops in your area
A business cannot legally keep tips intended for servers.
''Worlds richest country'' where workers have to rely on tips just to make a living.. amazing
You aren't OBLIGATED. If it's an option just remember, you can't spell option without N and OOs. No tip, that's your only tip from me.
I’m a delivery driver and $5 is great on a 20$ order
In theory, ANY tip is more than you have any right to expect.
i always buy pizza and where I live from the pizza place it’s far so i always remember tipping and the drivers is always so happy to get tip from $5 to $10
I once tipped a call girl $53. She was so happy !!
It’s simple. If they get paid a hourly wage that’s at minimum state wage or higher, then they don’t need tips.
Also. I’m so tired of them talking to this “etiquette expert”.
Or adopt the global method; and don't tip at all. Let the store develop a different business strategy to pay their workers. The food industry itself has a thin profit margin. But I pay my employees actual wages starting at $15.
Yes, the difference in min wage salary for tipped or not tipped is only a few dollars per hour, per server. The entire payroll should not be over 30 percent of gross revenue of a restaurant, including non-tipped employees.
Tipping is supposed to be a bonus for doing a good job.not paying employees for their work. Other countries don't tip they pay employees fair wage. May cost a little more but sees everyone happy owners and employee
I tip at my discretion. Not tipping someone for putting my donut in a bag. Not tipping for a to go order. I do tip for this and I hate it, tipping for a pour of beer on tap.
I’m not here to subsidize wages. I am here to thank you for your exceptional service.
You’re not entitled to a tip nor is anyone is obligated to tip you.
When I order takeout I don’t tip. I only tip when there is a person helping or delivering something
So basically lets form our own opinions about who we should tip.
Restaurant owners should pay us for wait time, waiting in line, and for making the effort to travel to the restaurant
It charges for delivery, it should paid for our traveling cost
Its everywhere now, like at Starbucks now they shove the tip iPad in your face, or taking out a pizza. I have no idea what extra service these people have supposedly done to earn a tip.
Those ipad tips go to the business owner not the worker to make it even worse.
ok i feel like they missed a big part of the problem and people don’t realize!! I used to work at a donut shop and the tips that were on the tablet did NOT go to the employees!! The owner would keep it or pay the fees for the machine tablet thing!
I suggest always asking the person serving u if the tip goes to them. When the tip is asking from a tablet.
No to tipping, employers need to pay decent salaries
None! Pay your fricken employees!
Tip whoever you want 🤷🏾♀️ I personally only tip my nail tech, loctician, and restaurant servers. On rare occasion when I utilize Lyft, I tip the driver as well 👍🏾
if you can afford all those services in the first place, then yeah, you probably should be tipping
in Joe Biden's economy. most of us don't (or no longer) get our nails professionally done, or eat in/from restaurants, or go to the loctician
@@lauranolastnamegiven3385 could be a billionaire and still not tip.
I’ll do it when I feel like it.
@@lauranolastnamegiven3385 In "Joe Biden's economy" I netted about four times more income last year than in the previous year and have to set aside some extra for the taxes we're going to owe in April. Thanks Joe!
I know people who work in retail that get tips sometimes (even though it's not allowed). Most times its denied but there has been times where they take the tip. For those who can get tips, appreciate every dollar you get. From some change to a few dollars, every penny counts.
The restaurant where I gave my biggest tip, I eventually caught them faking Kobe beef 😒
Majority of the world does NOT tip. Tipping is stupid and America should get rid of it. Shouldn’t be the customers job to pay the employees salary.
you see in australia we have a proper minimum wage where these rich companies have to fairly pay their workers and we dont need to tip anyone.
I ate out twice a week before, but now once a month. It's become really burdensome.
I don't get the connection. Tipping is completely optional. Enjoy yourself.
I hate it when im at a venue and the people there except a tip
Like no you don't ill gladly hit no tip as you watch
Nobody ever has the right to expect a tip.
such a bizzare concept in the americas
Here's my simple solution to the problem: I don't tip.
Delivery drivers only.
The truth though is we shouldn't be tipping anybody. Companies should be paying their employees a living wage. No matter the job.
Minimum wage for tips is not intended to be a "living wage".
Should you tip a furniture delivery guy who assembled stuff at the house, so far good but comments on the living conditions before leaving?
I vote to do away with tipping. Make employers pay their employees enough that tipping isn't necessary.
That's why tips personally mean a lot for me, because someone thought that I deserved it ❤
But I'd never harass you or something because you didn't tip me. That's just rude.
Never understood people complaining about people not tipping , that just tells me that you hate life and your job lmfao
Why tip someone who have a boss who pay them. It is not my job as a customer to pay the employee. They already got my money. The boss can use that to pay them. End of story. Never tip them. They doing their job.
💯
GET RID OF TIPPING ALTOGETHER!!!!!!! It’s ridiculous no where else in the world !!!!!
Stop tipping all together
My son is a server at a restaurant or waiter.. in our state since they get tips they only make like $3 an hour so yes service should get tips or else they basically make nothing. The guy at the front counter giving you Dunkin' donuts coffee for $15 an hour, no tip there.. if you ring me up at any register, no tip there.. in my opinion they should do away with tips like in other countries and have servers make the same wages as everyone else.
I always try to do at least $5. It also depends on the service but I try to give what I can bc we’re all working people
Ummm bro got a 5$ tip from 20$ is completely nice what the heck! What a ungrateful lame.
And btw these business should be paying these people more!!!!!! It’s ridiculous!
If the service was amazing of coarse I’ll tip. I’ve work in the industry where tipping it actually part of it. If you want a tip do great service as well!
The delivery guy is literally part of the problem of this whole tipping system
Put back $1 tip option. Not 20% minimum. Thats why people dont tip
Or just better off get rid of tipping like many other countries.
Tipping started when servers were making $1/hr and restaurant owners were smart to realize customers would pay their wage…
I’m not tipping a server making $80k/year
In Brazil we don't tip and personally as a Brazilian I think tipping is kind of confusing, I mean every time you pay you need to calculate the porcetage
No u don't bro it's a tip u leave what u want to help out
None of them, unless you absolutely want to because of an incredible service. Businesses need to pay their employees.
The way that restaurants add tipping options even when you’re not being tended to by a server is just more of these dark patterns that have been cropping up lately. It’s straight up emotional manipulation.
Don't overthink it. If you're not getting personal service that you appreciate, no tip is necessary and it is never actually required.
Starbucks is already way overpriced for the average quality drinks & foods they offer (it's essentially a fancy Dunkin' Donuts these days), and they still have the gall to ask for tips?
How many mansions/yachts does the Starbucks CEO own at this point?
Lmao I only tip when I can and that’s like at restaurants if you really rely on tips and can’t handle it then find a new job that simple
This is exactly what I do. . I will always tip a car hop but if I go through drive thru na. No tip.
If I go get my nails done or hair cuts yes I tip. If I go eat at restaurant for sure I tip. If I get pizza delivered. Yes I tip. But just like ordering my food and then they give it to me no service I dont feel bad about not tipping.
Myself.
That's why it's not good to have strange ppl knocking on your door ! I don't trust ppl with my food there's no telling what they've done before arriving !
