I’m doing my GCSEs this year and for maths on Friday there were a lot more confusing questions that make no sense and probably won’t be useful in the future.
omg i love this so much i hated maths and had looked at some past papers... same as you i knew it was quite simple but i just couldn't remember how to do it 😂 just as well i went on to do drama and performance lol
doing higher maths igcse rn😭 my school didn’t even offer foundation as an option but like i’m pretty good at maths so i’m not that peeved. i’ve got my non calc paper on friday and i’m kinda nervous but like it should be fine!(?)
@@BurakAkifAras-b1f tbh idrk.. the i stands for international so i think the qualification is applicable worldwide, but is also taken worldwide (like in india)
Are GTSE's equivalent to ACT's here in the states? They look far easier. I mean, for example, that 1/4 + 0.5 problem shouldn't require any brain cells.
you could google it but yes GCSE’s are the UK equivalent I think. Or it could be your SAT’s? But its like the main exam in the UK before you leave school. Yes it SHOULDNT require many brain cells but as you heard me say in the video- I havent done maths like this for ages and Im not very good at it anyway.
welll... its the first few qs...... trust me it gets harder later on especially on calculator paper since the one she did is non calculator which is supposed to be easier than calculator paper(not always) and its foundation paper not higher. but i think she did well considering she hasnt done maths in ages
@@Rebecca-mx8qe wjec did mine bc im in wales idk if england and wales got the same gcse board but they did the same thing😩it was talking about how much grams of palm oil goes into nutella like what bro
I'm not trying to hate or make you feel stupid, but WOW these questions are so much easier and more basic than papers today. I'm not saying they should be easy for you, but they're much, much easier for sure.
Literally, GSCE exams turn 2x2 into 'Evaluate the product of two times two, giving answer to the most appropriate rounding figure and if possible, write you answer as the negative reciprocal of X and remeber to show working out" Honeslty 😂 why not put '2x2'
well tbh not really, the first few qs are really easy but it gets so hard later on especially the calculator papers since it uses calculator its even harder so gcse is not easy but i did maths A level and comparing to gcse.... gcse seems really easy and im like was i stupid cos if i could do it again i would do much better but ofc at that time not really, you have to understand the concepts and there are many cases where twists are added. in simple terms its easy if you understand and can grasp it but even so it can be hard.
@@HollyLaing I can understand since you have not done maths for 8 years and failed the first time you did them. However you show that even if your not good at studies you can still have a good life.
Some questions are easy some questions are hard like quadratic equation and some topology like finding angle of a circle(using circle equation). I got 8 in Gcse maths.
Do you think you have dyscalculia? I was awful at maths, had a tutor and just got a 5 GCSE! I was great at English not maths. More girls are affected than boys. Schools recognise it now. You are NOT stupid Holly ❤

i live in russia and here we have exams in year 9 which are similar to gcses, you also take them at 16 and then you can go to college. our ones are so much more difficult! i’m looking at the tasks you had and i’m jealous!😂 by the way, you are not stupid! please don’t say that about yourself. you are amazing and talented
@@grassytramtracks I never got my GCSEs but I'm hoping to go do them this year. If you're not so good at maths, like me, do you get the foundation paper? I would be pretty pleased to get a 5 on it.
@@cloudsoflilac9731 generally yes, though if the school feels you could maybe get a 6, they'll probably enter you for higher. In theory at least, it is the same difficulty to get a 5 on both papers, though the fact that most questions are inaccessible if you're working at a grade 5 means that lots of people find that the foundation paper is a bit of a confidence knock
