you are a trip.. never seen a PTO generator before.. you just play with everything.. wish you were my neighbor I would let you play to set me up some stuff.. ML GBY
I would love to pick my neighbors from TH-cam. Alaska Prepper, City Prepper, Mike Morgan, Lead Farmer, Will Prowse, Andrew Camarata, Living Traditions, Pete B., Ken McElroy, Elon Musk, and more...
@@HomesteadEngineering well those are a few of my favs there.. so we would all be great neighbors.. great minds think alike!!! but that said most will tell you that you have to grow where you are planted! I'm planted in the middle of no where with out many around any more..oh well..
Great test! A bit loud for my taste but it's nice to have redundancy for sure! I have the Honda EU7000is converted to tri-fuel. I run it on natural gas and use it to power my 100A Chargeverter which is connected directly to the EG4 battery rack busbars. It can charge comfortably at 80 amps while the Growatt 12k LF inverter powers the load center during outages. I like this setup because it can power the 4 ton HVAC unit where the Honda can't...even with a soft starter. The great thing about battery backup is that you can put the generator away at night for better security.
I am considering a PTO generator for my home. I have a standard a general portable right now and it works well but I love the idea of one driven by my tractor because I always have plenty of diesel fuel. I have a Kubota LX2610 cab model. 25 horsepower and 19 at the PTO.
Yes, having all the diesel fuel laying around is my prime motivation for having the PTO. The 2nd biggest factor is the really clean power I get out of it. Good Luck!
I measured this once but I don't remember. I want to say about 1 gallon/hr (at 5kw load) but not sure... It seams a lot less than my Westinghouse 9500Watt generator for sure, big difference.

Beautiful setup! Those Honda's are pricy but boy do you get what you pay for.
You have a similar setup so you understand what I am doing and why. :)
Nice bit of kit! Great to have redundancy
Thanks!

4000 extra watts is great, you're ready for hurricane season, its starting to get active.
Yes sir. I feel like we are about 3-4 weeks away from something big... Get ready!
good piece of equipment
clever design!
Thanks!
What is th HP of that tractor ? Did you say the gen was a 5k or 7k ? It is a nice back up ! TY
The original HP was 16 but I would guess I am around 12 these days. The generator can do 7,200 Watts continuous. Thanks!
Is that 16 horsepower at the PTO or tractor itself? Thanks
Neighbors must believe your nuts 😂😂😂
They might be right... :)
Nice! What is the fuel usage of Kubota with 7 kw load?

@@HomesteadEngineering thanx! People saing also, at pto usage speed Kubota uses 1 - 1.2 gallon of diesel. If you say gal ph, so it is correct.
