    With everything almost double performance while using half power, this M1PRO basically almost 4X times better than Intel.

    I'm blown away by how quiet the 16" M1 Pro MBP is and the speakers are amazing. I just got it a month and a half ago. I wasn't crazy about the new design at first coming from a 15.4" Touch Bar MBP but now I totally get it. My Intel MBP's fans would come on just for software updates. I haven't been this excited over a MBP since I bought my first one in 2011!

    Glad to see that the M1Pro actually makes a difference in time and performance. Speakers was amazing on both (can't tell the difference) and the 1080p cam and new ISP does show a measurable difference.

    16:10 if you notice, the right side of the new 16" fan is fan 2. The MacBooks are side by side, air flow is more limited on the right side causing that fan to kick out more power. It is actually very impressive that this test shows how power management is fine tuned in this machine.

      MacBook Air M1 : For students and people who don’t do anything besides web browsing and watching videos and movies
      MacBook Pro 13 inch M1 : For students who would like to play games with high FPS such as Minecraft (the fan in the MacBook Pro helps out in cooling) and for people who do more intensive tasks but don’t have the money or don’t want to spend more money on the 14 inch MacBook Pro.

    I really appreciate the real world examples of the performance, many other reviewers just throw up bar charts and numbers and call it a day but that doesn’t really help me understand as well as real use. I use Lightroom and FCP, those tests really showed me the power here, thanks. Especially helpful when looking to upgrade from an older machine, seeing the comparison.

    It looks twice as chunky, that is a really interesting choice. Going back a decade it was a race to see how thin things could be. I love the new focus on utility, it adds meaning back to the “pro” moniker. I wonder how the air will evolve next, or if.

    • @strictnonconformist7369
      @strictnonconformist7369 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The race for thin was a race to Stupidtown.
      Glad to see they’re less concerned about aesthetics than functionality now. And each time I use Xcode with the touchbar while debugging, I find myself cursing all the dumbasses involved in that, because it actively gets in the way and I can’t reassign to what I need within it.

    • @Mamo878
      @Mamo878 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the post Jony Ive era. He seemed to want everything as thin as possible (with iPhones too) which negatively affected battery life, cooling and performance. Not to mention things like removing ports.
      Looks like Apple is finally back to making computers with function a priority over form.

    This is my first time to subscribe to someone and actually really like most of the videos. The reviews was really detailed with real life test in every situation on different needs. I just started my small business and It really impacted my purchase decision which makes me really happy not only in the beginning but for many use of the product that I choose especially in this pandemic that you need to be really wise with your finances. Thank you so much! Keep up the good work and God bless you!

    It’s hard to believe that they’re still working to improve their M1 series chips. They’re already so good. Makes you wonder what they have planned for future Macs.

      It seems good because the chip Intel was making for them was made for chrome books. So you where over paying for the product. Now they are using a chip that is actually made for the software and made for performance laptops not chrome books. Apple chip does compete well against there mid high end laptop chips but can’t hold it for long before throttling. I have n waiting for Apple to finally replacing the cheap chip instead of robbing people. This chip is very powerful and it is impressive to though it is this good on their first version.

      @@rayatrixx7909 no thats absolute bs. there was no chromebooks at the time which came with a 10th generation core i7 and i9. and if you did find one it would be over $1000. intel uses the same laptop chips for apple, as they do for competitors like dell, hp, etc.

    Struggling so hard to choose between the 14 and 16 inch, definitely leaning towards the 14, especially since there’s minimal real world speed difference

      Your windows from 2017 still perform well whether you are engineer or computer scientist!
      Having a Mac doesn't make you better, but you need to adapt Mac shortcuts, apps, and etc.
      You gonna realize at the end having a Mac doesn't make you a better engineer since it doesn't have anybody to do with your major.

      I think that windows just feels so chunky and slow. I have worked as a programmer in both windows and mac for a while and I will say that mac just affords much more ability to organize your work in a way that maintains focus.

    • @jasonnugent963
      @jasonnugent963 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamesmortensen6819 As a 25yr career Windows guy, your observations about organizing and focus,.. are exactly correct. I still do a lot of Windows support, but all my personal stuff is Apple now. The ability to sit down at a Mac,.. and feel the OS just sort of “fade away into the background” and focus feels to naturally fall into place,… is exactly why I continue to prefer Apple products.

    Thanks for a good comparison...I am so pleased Apple is including various ports again...and that the keyboard and touchpad are easy to use...when I chose my little MacBook Air M1 13" I assumed I would need an external mouse and keyboard as my old Toshiba was difficult to type on and the touchpad was unresponsive without literally pounding the thing...the user needed the strength of Samson...though I am a typist I am only little!...but I am able to use both on my Mac with ease...
    As for your comparison...the MacBook M1 Pro 16" has deeper, richer sound quality...your voice on the webcam sounds clear...and your face in internal light is easily seen with good tone overall... vs the MacBook Intel 16"...the sound is flat...your voice on the webcam sounds slightly fuzzy...and skin tone is lightly more grey...screen size on the M1 Pro is maximised by a smaller frame...HDR difference is dramatic...on the M1 Pro the image is crisp and colours are clear...whereas the Intel screen image is darker and muddied...almost as if the screen is overlaid with a film...and the double battery life of the M1 Pro speaks for itself...in all of the tests you run the M1 is streaks ahead of the Intel...almost embarrassing...regards.
