Millet cake recipe | Gluten free apple cake

  • This video shows the recipe of a millet cake. This cake is an eggless gluten-free cake. I have used sorghum flour also known as "Jowar ka atta" to make this cake. Sorghum is a type of millet that comes in many varieties. Here in this recipe, I have used white whole sorghum flour.
    Many research studies have shown its benefits in controlling and managing diabetes mellitus and lowering total cholesterol.
    There are many ways to use sorghum flour. You can check other recipes too on my channel.
    This apple cinnamon cake is very easy to make and a healthy dessert option for you and your family. This gluten-free cake is free from all refined ingredients and loaded with nutrients. To make this apple cinnamon cake a vegan cake, one can simply swap the butter with vegan butter, coconut oil, or any other cold-pressed neutral flavor oil.
    Ingredients:
    500 grams apples (tangy/sour/semi sweet variety)
    1 tbsp cinnamon powder
    1 pinch + 1 pinch salt
    1/3 cup raw sugar + 1 tbsp
    2 tbsp + 1 tbsp melted butter/ Coconut oil
    1/3 cup ground flaxeeds + 3 times water
    1 cup jowar/ sorghum flour
    1/2 tbsp baking powder
    1 pinch of baking soda
    1 spoon vanilla extract

    If we want to make it in a bit of a bigger quantity, can I just double the ingredients?

    Can i use dates instead of raw sugar? if so what should be the conversion? Grateful for your reply!😊

      Yes you can do that in an equal measure of raw sugar but It will make cake more dense. Alternatively you can use date sugar made from dried dates. That works better for cakes. Check out this video for reference

    Can I use palm sugar in place of raw sugar? And foxtail millet flour instead of Sorghum flour?
