I had to be shown this as I have loved Rut for years and the only recorded performance she has done of this is much more up tempo (on Night Glo) than this and the other live versions I have been privileged to be present at in more recent years. I regard this as one of her (many) masterpieces. Deceptively simple ('cept it really isn't if you. play it) and, as always, leaving the space for others to shine. Respect also to Steve Swallow..... Together, so much beautiful space....

Yes, this is "Rut" - in French it is pronounced more like "Root", which is how it was transliterated into English.
