That's because our lawmakers, who could put an end to this disgusting stuff are spineless cowards and don't respect or regard us. If we go to the ballot box and fire THEM for dereliction of duty and not protecting and serving their constituents, things will change in a hurry. Sadly, someone keeps voting in these same people who don't care about us and our families. Most of the people I vote for, are not elected.

They are trained to behave that way. Look into police training. To Protect and Serve is merely a propagandistic slogan to convince the public to keep funding them. In reality, they are trained to put their lives above yours. They stood outside at Uvalde for 77 minutes while the shooter picked off children. They are trained to protect each other and let you die.

Glad the family got a settlement and some form of justice. The issue is that money comes from the taxpayers. Not from the Phx PD budget or from the officers. I don't see that qualified immunity is being revoked for these types of cases. Unless the cases are reviewed and revoked then the PD and the officers know damn well, they can hide behind this and not be held accountable. It's really simple. Hold them accountable personally and financially then maybe things will change. Otherwise, these things will continue at the taxpayers expense. 🙃

I think everyone on here should request the court documents of this case where the county and state collectively determined through witness testimony, expert testimony, and other evidence why the officer was not criminally charged. There is a “use of force” science that goes into a shooting. Multiple experts spoke on this. While it looked bad(believe me, I know how it looks), there are physiological responses that occurred. Just look up force sciences before saying anything. Furthermore, most police academies have open days for civilians to do scenarios. Go to them, see how you would do? A civil rights attorney in Arizona tried it and shot 3 people unarmed(in the scenario) and ultimately admitted that these situations are difficult. They are 50x more difficult in a life and death situation.
