His salary is too high for what he produces. We need to make trades for improvement in the bull pen after losing David Price, Hin Jin Ryu and Kenta. We can even throw Gavin Lux in a trade.

Stripling pitched better than his final line showed. Ump was definitely squeezing the strike zone a bit late in that game and that allowed the Padres to creep back in it, too. Joc going opposite field is something he needs to do more often. He's got power from foul pole to foul pole, but sometimes he gets too caught up in pulling those fastballs. And I'm glad it was Will Smith that caught Taylor's throw and got the final out at the plate. Had it been Austin Barnes, he would've dropped that damn ball and the game most likely goes to extras (lol). Padres got themselves a deep young ballclub right now, just a matter of how quickly they learn from their mistakes...
At the end of the game I was so scared that the Padres were gonna score!! But once I saw Chris Taylor make the double play it was the best part 🤩🙌🙌
We loved him in Seattle and was sad to see him go. Glad he is on the field everyday ( or DHing)!

Not hating.. it’s just that it’s always the same thing with him. Every time a runner gets on, it takes him out of his pitching rhythm. He worries way too much about the runner and makes too many mistakes with the batter. Every hit was a hard hit against him in the 9th, Taylor just bailed him out. A closer cannot blow a 3 run lead.

You can tell the padres really wanted to make a statement this series but at least we held up. Half the team is really on the schedule while the other half is still trying to kick into gear.
