I understand that the male lead was traumatized and all, but that doesn't justify his neglect and psychological abuse toward the female lead. If he has issues, he should go to therapy and work on them. Having gone through trauma doesn't give anyone the right to other people's time, love or forgiveness. Male lead was traumatized as a child and what he did about it was to traumatize someone else (female lead). To me, it doesn't matter that he loved her all along. What matters is that loving her didn't stop him from intentionally hurting her deeply. That kind of love is something I wouldn't want. The female lead deserves someone who's willing and capable of treating her with kindness and respect, nor thins kind of entitled scumbag.
This is not a simple story. Fl has suffered from (unintentional) neglect and cold violence. ML is (not) guilty (feels guilty of circumstances beyond his control since childhood). He’s depressed, emotionally stunted, and unable to clearly communicate his emotions and thoughts and feelings. At about the middle of the story he begins to get serious about therapy because his friends see him spiraling down into alcohol dependency. Best move ever. Very rarely is a story this complicated and this real. He’s made a lot, and I mean a lot of mistakes with FL (his wife). As he begins to unpack his mind I began to root for them. She set some limits and boundaries and both began to love and respect the other. She also needed growing up. Don’t be put off by his serious character flaws. Or his horrible family. No one in his situation could grow up healthy or happy. Kudos to all involved including actors, writers, crew, crazy subtitlers and all. THANK YOU FOR POSTING!! 🤩🤔😳😔😣😇🧐
Thanks for posting your thoughts. I stay away from stories with ML neglecting the FL and ended up with FL forgiving ML in the end as most short cdrama's butchered this type of plot. I actually love this plot as long as it is executed well and based on your comments it looks like it is.
Entertaining. ML and FL quite good chemistry and good looking. They acted well and strengthen the story. Tough storyline but the actors manage to bring it alive. Twist and turn ,finally good ending. Antagonist characters well done and senior artists also talented. Hope to see more drama with this couple. Rest of team did well. 😊

*edit* this is a very deep and complex drama, definitely worth watching. She doesn't forgive him easily, his sincerity is made clear to her by his actions. . These two are infuriating. When they met as young adults he could have told her he wears the bracelet in memory of his brother. They promise full disclosure to each other later on, but then keep serious stuff to themselves.

The fact that he lied to her about his identity and called another woman’s name on purpose so that she would feel the same hurt he did by being recognized wrongly is despicable. Then he never touched her again. I can’t imagine the pain. He should have been honest. He could have told her that the little boy she met was gone but that he would love to get to know her. They still would have a beginning and could have fallen in love honestly
By reading the comments i can tell that some of you did not properly watched the drama. It is not cheat/ divorce and forgive drama as described it is something else dont be misguided by the comment section because there are few plot twists in which you understand better how they did end up like that

exactly that scene in the club 1:45:00 ! it's one thing for them to be frustrated that she doesn't know these things but NOONE told her anything. she didn't know who her bio dad was till long after they 'divorced' therefore didn't know what her bio dad did didn't know ml wasnt who she thought he was didn't know ml mental health issues and it's not as if it's from her not being observant, everyone was purposefully keeping this information from her. ml was hurting her emotionally on purpose creating misunderstanding

The negative comments in this drama does not represent the true drama. I'm someone that skips a lot but did not once skip a bit here. Forget the first 5 minutes of "divorce". Its nothing like the other dramas with similar plots.
Okkk so i have a different opinion from everyone else. I actually like this one i mean other half of drama. Maybe because it somehow resembles to novels where ml have his own gang for doing dirty works. Ml's friends are also so good. And Ml really love her a lot. I actually enjoyed it. And i want to re-watch it but offcourse after maybe 1 hour or 1 and half hour (I don't remember precisely) because those one hour didn't make me interested that much but after the misunderstanding get clear i loved it. The story of this show is a bit more complicated than usual. You have to keep watching to understand why the husband is the way he is and did the things he did. Lots of twists and turns also.
I guess I watched around half a hour but ML was being ridiculous, he took his brother's place and married FL, ignored and was cold to her for 3 yeast, barely could be called a marriage, they are basically strangers, divorce her for another woman's child, she agree and go out of his life but he goes crazy chasing her everywhere and still has to guts to ask if their marriage was tiring and why FL agreed to divorce him. He looks like has double personality.

Yes, he is. If you’d watched it further, you’d know he was tortured by his own parents and grew up with huge trauma and lack of love… And while the story progressing - not only he realizes it, but carefully treating it, trying to change his destructive behaviour.
One thing I want to say for first time don't believe in comment bcoz drama was really good this is not a normal husband wife misunderstanding drama but a drama where both of them at fault and there are other reasons
The viewers need to understand Chinese in order to understand the drama as the subtitles are inadequate. This is a drama about childhood trauma and healing. It is quite well written without showing too much angst and very different from the run-of-the-mill dramas about weak damsels and abusive men. I see a lot of comments hating/criticizing the ML/his friends and FL and I know they don’t understand Chinese well since they came to that conclusion. There are many plot twists. Don’t waste time watching if you don’t understand Chinese.

I feel bad for the ML, I have sympathy for him, don’t get me wrong but all of their misunderstandings and problems are his own doing, the FL can’t be held responsible for things she was never told about. They’re essentially saying “I know every single one of us has never told you anything that is happening and just let you misunderstand everything but this is your fault too for not knowing.” Like please, wtf are you on? 😭

Okkk so i have a different opinion from everyone else. I actually like this one i mean other half of drama. Maybe because it somehow resembles to novels where ml have his own gang for doing dirty works. Ml's friends are also so good. And Ml really love her a lot. I actually enjoyed it. And i want to re-watch it but offcourse after maybe 1 hour or 1 and half hour (I don't remember precisely) because those one hour didn't make me interested that much but after the misunderstanding get clear i loved it. I loved how ml show no mercy to people who touch fl. He is merciless. I just loved that. ❤

I guess I watched around half a hour but ML was being ridiculous, he took his brother's place and married FL, ignored and was cold to her for 3 yeast, barely could be called a marriage, they are basically strangers, divorce her for another woman's child, she agree and go out of his life but he goes crazy chasing her everywhere and still has to guts to ask if their marriage was tiring and why FL agreed to divorce him. He looks like has double personality.

故事精彩，只是內容有很多暴力內容（包含綁架、強迫、虐打、監禁…），男主角家庭不和睦，少時被生母厭棄、監禁、虐打,又因為哥哥因他而溺斃（事後被救活，但是男主不知道）、活在愧疚之中，導致心理創傷嚴重，有狂躁症和抑鬱症…
女主角則是在孤兒院長大，父親是綁架男主（小時候）的綁匪,男主哥哥溺斃被誤以為是女主的爸爸造成的，所以女主被稱為殺人犯的女兒，在陸家不受待見，結婚三年後，陸家家長（男主父母）也逼男女主離婚，其中還有懷孕的兄嫂介入…總之，故事挺複雜。內容是兒少不宜，算輔導級影片。
影片應該聲明內容：私刑和綁架是犯法，自殺、暴力行為請勿模仿。

The viewers need to understand Chinese in order to understand the drama as the subtitles are inadequate. This is a drama about childhood trauma and healing. It is quite well written without showing too much angst and very different from the run-of-the-mill dramas about weak damsels and abusive men.
I see a lot of comments hating/criticizing the ML/his friends and FL and I know they don’t understand Chinese well since they came to that conclusion. There are many plot twists. Don’t waste time watching if you don’t understand Chinese.
I’m trying to figure out why do every drama I watch the ML’s always pestering the women after the divorce and you can’t say oh because they love each other no, you’re being a bother😅😅
