  • This is a DIY project car, I've done all modifications myself minus the remote start and this is my first video.
    I've been learning about this car as I go, some things, like the steering wheel and speedometer the dealership told to me couldn't be done because it would flip the BCM and cause errors and mess up the vehicle. However, with a couple wiring diagrams from the doner vehicle and the vehicle I was swapping to and a little bit of persistence, I found out that the harnesses were plug and play and can be rearranged by flipping only a couple wires to gain full functionality.
    Remember: When someone tells you that you can't do something, try harder to prove them wrong.

    • @versag3776

      Super easy actually! Most of The steering wheels Nissan makes in similar years are plug and play I found out. I was already prepared to make a harness and didn't need to. Only thing is have a air bag resistor ready they're about $2 for a set, some of the steering wheels only have one air bag and you will need the resistor so the air bag warning light doesn't go off.
      Do you have an SL note?

    Update: The Body kit is on its way from Malaysia at the moment 40 days out and have my eye on a totalled Nismo Juke in Texas with a good MR16DDT engine, turbo, intercooler, and all the control units I need to make the swap, found out the transmission is the same as the versa just programmed differently so I'll probably keep mine if it works out new video coming soon.

      I was thinking bout just buying a turbo manifold and cutting the flags off of it and cutting it off mine and welding it back together so it would bolt right on. And I been looking in to like a Sentra Disk brakes for out in rear it looks like it can be done gonna be going to pull and pay and see what I can find out here soon.

    • @versag3776
      @versag3776  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have hard faith it will work. With some engine bay modifications and maybe a piggyback ecu. The same engine on the juke is used in the rs Sentra with a similar engine bay size as the versa. This is my stall, You think i could piggy back ecus? I don't know anything about the programming language or if I could rewrite the Jukes ECU and TCU to bypass the vin number immobilizer. Theres hard line communication between all 3 systems ECU TCU and BCM and the engine wont start without immobilizer vin info. Replacing all three would literally mean rewiring everything from the stereo, air conditioning, to the speedometer/combo-meter ⬅️Nissans term. Not saying I couldn't do it, but I use my car too often to have it sitting in the garage for as long as it would take. If anyone else wanted to do it first, I would be game to work on this with them.

    • @versag3776
      @versag3776  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A guy in Malay actually made the frame of the grill out of milk jugs and a mold, any #2 plastic will work if you wanna DIY, I added the honeycomb plastic and painted it the same matte black as I painted the rims.
      Good idea on the push to start video. I planned on figuring out how to do this some time ago so I could make room under the column for paddle shifters.
      So far what I know is it possibly has to be programmed. The BCM is a different part number for the ikey system, secondary options leave you with aftermarket products but if you look at the repair manuals, legally you can pick up any repair diagram from your local Nissan dealership and use it to mod, there are a lot of clues on how to wire push to start and an Ikey system OEM style.

    For what ever its worth there are people over seas making the versa reach 230hp out of the hr12. That is the 3 cylinder version of the hr16, they claim stock bottom engine parts. So with that math in mind this can engine can reach a little over 300hp.
    Now if you are dead set on juke swapping it the juke runs the same chassis as the versa N17 code. Again for with ever its worth if you manual swap it the clucth is the same in the juke and versa

    Versa G, I have so many questions about that steering wheel and a few other things.

    • @versag3776
      @versag3776  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Okay so first, the steering wheel is from a totalled Nissan Maxima 15 I believe. You want the steering wheel from the year that has the release pins on the sides and bottom of the steering wheel, that way you can get it off for maintenance. The 2018 one looks exactly the same but the release pins are on the back which would make it near impossible to remove it from the clock spring on the versa once mated lol. The air bag has to match the same year as the wheel and you'll need a resistor to plug in to the 2nd Airbag female connector from the clock spring to trick the Versa Body Control Module into thinking it still has dual airbags, that is, if you get a single airbag system. You can pick a resistor up from eBay for 2 dollars. This steering wheel has an added bonus of button illumination lighting when headlights are on. All functions are identical as soon as it's plugged in, No excess wiring needed, this I did not expect, as I was the first person to do this. I was the guinea pig, so i picked up the wiring diagrams just in case not at all confident it would work.
      Second, There are a few options out there, one having a heated option, I'm not sure how functionality would transfer through the versa clock spring, if you wanted that option it would require additional wiring, if it's at all possible.

But they have the same issue when that transmission gets around 75 it will do the same.

    • @versag3776
      @versag3776  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends, what model do you have? If you have an SV the SL speedometer will work, but you just have to move one wire, pin 16 to pin 13 or vice "versa" lol, I can't remember off the top of my head but one is blank the other is the black wire. If you have an S model however, you'll need to move most of the pins around. Data lines are in different locations, but nothing is impossible my friend.

    • @versag3776
      @versag3776  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That 13/16 pin move btw is for illumination control, so not super important but you might want to have dash lights that you can turn down with the combometer.

    • @versag3776
      @versag3776  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just spent some time searching for the link. I ordered them from China, the seller that I bought them from on ebay is selling a different style now with a ribbed plastic guard on the front. I personally don't like this style as much but happen to have 2 sets of those same ones unboxed if you want I would sell you a set for 80, they have the turn signal and running lights. But if you happen to find the link to the others let me know. One of mine got water damage from it not being properly sealed from the factory, something you probably have experienced if you've ever purchased anything from china. After discovering the water I took it apart dried it and resealed it (everywhere water could get in) with silicone then reassembled it but the damage had already been done, 2 LEDs are burned out now and the metallic/electroplated reflective paint on the plastic had corroded off. I recommend making sure Everything is sealed well with silicone before assembly if you plan on buying any aftermarket fog Lights, the quality control is just not where it should be.

    • @versag3776
      @versag3776  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bought them back when I was on a wish app binge lol. Lol it was one of the first things I bought for the car and I highly doubt they're legit nismo gear but regardless they're actually really good quality compared to a lot of other Chinese made goods. Heads up; you'll have to drill into the metal on the brake pedal if you want to mount the bolts properly. I just took the rubber boot off so if I ever wanted to put it back to original it won't be too hard and also unnoticeable. Also I used locktite on the mounting bolt threads because I assumed constant motion would probably loosen them over time.

      3M exterior tape is amazing stuff. I've had no issues with it thus far. Just be sure to clean and prep both surfaces with 70% rubbing alcohol (or above) and let dry before applying the tape. Any dirt or wax will cause poor adhesion.
