highly underrated band - love these guys, and Ivo absolutely kills it.
Those bass drum strokes are powerful as fuck. The pedals are reaching their limit of springback, I love seeing that. Amazing deumming
Chandler Brown looks like he is using axis a21 vectors. The 21 degree angled beater results in powerful hits effortlessly. Thats also why i have some on order haha
I cant watch drummers using triggers with drum heads bouncing 1-2 cm off the bass drum. Here you can see that he would sound good even if he would not use triggers as the hits is powerful and clean, but that is harder to set up of course.

This guy is a great Drummer! His style is really interesting. He plays more like a Percussionist, like it isn't a Drum Kit, it's all separate instruments. Also really interesting that he doesn't seem to use a Hi-Hat pedal.

The short bass drums make a Hell of a lot of sense when he’s just triggering.

Kilty MacBagpipe I've been noticing this trend with modern metal drummers. 16-18 inch bass drums. If you're triggering like you said it doesn't really matter. I used to help out my cousin's old band (basically tech'ed for them since their drummer was far better of a player than I was), and he actually used an old Roland pad instead of a bass drum. Looked sorta goofy but saved a lot of time and space.
BurnThePope why lug around massive bass drums when they are stuffed full of foam? They look cool but they are also heavy.

I've literally never seen a four piece being used by a black metal guy. I might have seen covers played on one, but never the actual drummer for the band. That was pretty cool. Decent sound too, not the best sounding plates ever but it worked. Great video.

That's a very broad statement & very cute if made in a sort of joking look how nice their hair is etc...but I know women with hair so long & thick they get migraines like my mother had long gorgeous thick black hair, before I started doing everything under the sun to mine including 50% by volume peroxide (they don't even allow over 40% in any hair salons I know a few ppl that own some) & powdered bleach straight on my head for an hour just to get the red out & my hair is still thick & grows fast. But I could go on & on my younger sister & niece blah, blah, blah lol then go from there I'm sure I'm taking this WAY too seriously 😂 but 😢...

Well Namtar was already a pretty crazy drummer. But he made so much progress through the years of playing with Carach Angren. Amazing drumming, tight and really powerful, congrats :D

I think this could be one of the more under appreciated drummers hes tight in the pocket and most importantly he seems to really have fun thjs is the first time i have heard this band i really dig themthey have just the right amount of atmosphere to not sound like they are to untalented to hide behind atmosphere i hate bands in any genre that do that

+Chris Bowen If your timing is wrong, drum triggers will not fix it. Triggers eliminate tge need to play with dynamics. in metal, youre usually playing at ff all the time anyways

No, it is not Jack Owen. I was at that show in November, and when I was meeting Carach Angren, I asked the guitarist, "So you're "The Butcher," right?" And he said in a Dutch accent, "Yes, I am!" I also asked Ardek in an interview for The Age of Metal in July if they were going to have Jack Owen play with them on another US tour, and he said that they had been working closely with the two guitarists of Mescaliner, which is the band The Butcher plays in.

Great drumming, super cheap sounding cymbals.
Those are the Paiste Colorsound 900s. They actually sound really good in person. They just don't appear to have been recorded very well. He also has those crashes tightened down way too tight, and that will keep them from resonating the way they should.
He might have one or two RUDEs mixed in, but if you look at his ride, you can see the Colorsound 900 logo. It is a little difficult to read because it is wearing away, but it is there.
No overhead mic so some of that is the Tom and snare gate opening and the splash bleeding into it
I have seen them live as an opener for COB and you couldn't hear his cymbals in the mix. Really disappointing because it ruined the set for me. No idea why he keeps them so tight...
