How much money do you usually put into trades?
Sounds like he maybe swing trades options. I'm not 100% sure if he still does it that way but if you day trade SPY like I do it's a maximum risk usually of about $100 per contract. You'd never lose the full amount though because you would have set a stop-loss ahead of time to prevent it from going too far. So like a good trade often times if you're betting 100 contracts that's somewhere around a $10K max risk and you can make between 1500-5K (per trade) a lot of the time as long as you nail the setup, entry and exit.

Anything is possible, you just need good calculated risk with leverage a bit on the high side. But you have to learn the indepth of trading before starting this.
