Place your tape on your shoulder. Let the tape run across your bust down to your bellybutton or about 2 inches before your belly button for a high waist skirt.
It will still come out beautiful. Just continue with your normal zipper allowance at the centre back from waist to full length line, then all through the full length line should be of equal lengths for both the front and the back.
That is the point where you curve out your skirt to make the down part wider and to flow out. It should be 4 inches before you reach your actual knee cap. Thats Why I call it above the knee
Depending on your size and how much volume you want your train to have. You'll be needing about 2 to 3 yards of material. I'll recommend 2 yards for size 8 below, 2.5 yards for size 10. And 3 yards for size 12 and above
it will be better to use short linen. i.e. linen from the waist to the knee length or slightly below the hip. in this case the linen will be like a short pencil skirt underneath it. Just place the main fabric on the linen and cut out the exact shape but stop at the knee length

Is the train cut on a fold like the front part or cut into two single pieces? love this video
Yes the back side/train is cut on the fold. However, the center back will have to be opened because of the zipper
