Summer Camp Week 2 Day 1 Recap
Our summer camp day began with an interactive digital literacy experience that immersed students in cultivating positive online citizenship and wellbeing through exploring codes of conduct for fostering healthy digital communities. We then transitioned into a virtual escape room coding adventure set in Dr. Breakowski's bizarre mansion. Instead of simply searching the premises, we had to leverage computational thinking to crack codes, uncover hidden passages, and solve fresh coding puzzles in each room - all working towards the goal of escaping the mansion before dawn to claim a million emerald prize. Applying real coding concepts to unveil clues and progress further into the mansion's depths proved an engaging challenge that reinforced digital skills. We capped off the day envisioning how to market an esports program tailored to get students excited about coding and digital literacy through immersive, gamified experiences like the ones we explored.
Then we ended our session of what we would like to see in an esports program to market to students their age.
