I can only hope this means Konami will realize people would love to see a new game and not just re-releases (but if Konami is listening, can we get the PS2 3D games re-released? Thanks!)
@6:50 Some new weapons DO need Max Passives, so your precaution is a good idea if you're not going to take Midnight Bolero every run. Hate to miss an evolve by running out of evolve chests when it takes like 4 guesses on which passive you needed to find from random Arma Dio spawns from Hail From The Future or something. @15:25 In fact, your evolved book required Max Stone Mask. @16:30 And the evolved Discus. So yeah, good precaution to try to max things if you're not taking Midnight Bolero.
EDITed: AFAIK (not unlocked everything though), you don't have to kill every boss in a single run to unlock anything. After the very last boss you beat to his upper left theres a 2D area, (the area you couldn't figure out with the super enemies), you need to go in there with a specific character, (Richter Belmont). For the Arcana that gives you the fingers. If you seal them in the collections they can't drop from it. You can get more seals by enabling the other DLC's then in the collections screen you can tick a box on the upper left side to disable everything from that DLC except for relics without using any seals, (it refunds any allready invested).
I said this already, but if you're stuck and you need a hint... play Symphony of the Night. Vampire Survivors, since its inception, was born as a parody of Castlevania, so by playing Symphony of the Night a lot of things will suddenly start making A LOT of sense for you. And it will also drop you a huge hint not only on what you need to do to progress, but also what's to come...
The music in this DLC are remixes of known and sometimes lesser known songs of the official Castlevania games and you are correct in noticing that they are all certified bangers.
holy shit. I've progressed a lot in this DLC, and I can't believe how much content there is. I really hope Dex makes a video about everything in this. It's just amazing
Spoiler-free hint about those doors you can't open: Those doors you want to open will be opened later. Just keep progressing the DLC. Something super notable will happen, and that's when they unlock. You'll know it when you see it. If you need further hints, look in the unlockables screen.
Great video Dex Two things: First the problem you had with the map, remember that you can zoom in and zoom out and to answer your question, it is with a certain character that you unlock the doors that are still close.
All the spell books requires max passive levels for them. Telling you this early, so you dont struggle with this later, since they are important for later characters. Since you didn't want to be spoiled too much, i deleted some stuff here so you can enjoy the game as you want. There are a LOOOOT of stuff to find in this DLC. I'll see you next year, when you'll be done with it! 👍
Hint: Just like, Tides of the Foscari, A specific character needs to go to a specific location to permanently unlock the rest of the map. Then some bosses need to be killed to permanently unlock different doors. (That one door you found can't be unlocked yet) Weapon hint: Some weapons require the passives to be maxed, and others don't... in this DLC exclusively. I'll tell you specifics if you ask. I can't wait to hear your reaction to something in what seems would be late in the dlc.
Dex in the previous video: "Note to the future, don't take the crazy Darkassos when exploring the DLC, the game can't handle it." Dex at the start of this video: _takes Hail from the Future which is going to shower him in weapons and items_
The music of that stage was made by Keygen Church/MasterBootRecord, his music style is unique I recommend you to give a listen to him. The difference between KC and MBR is only style, KC has a more gothic style and MBR more a retro/computer style
I don't know but in some Castlevania games, you could only reach certain areas if you had certain spells equipped. In Symphony of the Night you could only access the upside-down castle if you had bat, fireball and something else that i don't remember. Perhaps it's the same here that you need certain items equipped?
I went to the Library to cheese through the damage requirements for the Alucart Sworb and Javelin. Did them with the Scanner for maximum cheese factor, and boy, was it hilarious.
Not gonna spoil technically since the unlock description is listed on the character's icon but for the one character where it says clear any stage as two other characters you DON’T need to do in a coop run
Well, if you like church stuff mixed with tons of metal, I suggest checking out a song called Prancing Dad done by Prince of Darkness. It's a remix of many epic boss songs from mostly Final Fantasy 6 and some FF7. It's almost 12 minutes of that goodness and it goes very hard.
I don't know if it was madness or genius that caused Dex to connect the water whip with the attract orb. It was right though, so I guess I'll go with genius.
I've been using the chests darkana and the stuff on level up darkana to get everything. I was a dummy with the water whip and didn't even think about the orb and almost didn't evolve it till the end when I did get that.
This is just speculation since I haven't played the DLC, but, in one of the previous videos you went into a room that had weapons inside some glasses. I wonder if making a build using those weapons could unlock something?
You say your a metal fan, I'm curious if you've played metal hellsinger and if so is that the type of metal you like? Me personally I've been listening to alot of Ingested, Whitechapel, Thy art is murder, The Acacia Strain.
I unlocked that "one" character and tried to do the 2nd run, but this time the game bugged after i played for an hour, all new stuff are in the collections, but the unlocks aren't checked, i already told Poncle about this problem, hopefully they fix it asap
hi! Had the same problem then played a round with another character on the bibliothek map to gain money. Don‘t know why but at the end of the run the achievements of the run before suddenly appeared. Maybe try it too?
OK, there are some spoilers to help Dex along without ruining anything. First, understand that you're basically still in "part 1" of the DLC. When you're done with this, a whole lot more stuff becomes available. But to get through that room was killing you - the Throne Room - you can only go there with Richter Belmont. You have to chain unlock a number of characters and weapons to get to him, but the game explains all of that in the character select and unlocks menus. You can cycle through the teleporters pretty quickly as Richter and go there with limited level-ups, or do it with a more leveled build. I won't spoil how I did it. But when you get there, there is a long (and unskippable) cutscene followed by a special fight. If you fail the fight, you will have to do the whole thing over again. Once you've finished the fight, the whole DLC starts to open up, but even describing what happens and how is a massive spoiler. Just know you've got a lot of fun ahead of you.
A quick note here that's important. Because of how the Richter sequence goes, it seems like there's a bug that the game doesn't recognize any other unlocks/achievements for that run. So don't try to combine that run with any other unlocks you might attempt.
also another spoiler: you can't hear the music without headphones because dex optimises for headphones, not laptop speakers. source: I use breakaway audio enhancer with Power set to 93
Hi Dex, will you make a video about the secrets from the DLC? Aside from a few obvious ones, I'm completely clueless about the others, and nowadays, I don't have as much money to go secret hunting all by myself.
@0:10 Honestly, the map is tough enough with its terrible Exp gain that Hail From The Future and/or Midnight Bolero are really good pickups, especially if you want to evolve the new things blind. And yeah, Mad Groove too, even if it means dropping Midnight Bolero since the red skull boss chests all evolve, though timed bosses do not until 10min. There's SO many unlocks, this DLC is just ridiculously massive even with just the 1 huge map. So yeah, you're gonna be chipping away at videos on this for a while. I know I'll be chipping away at it for at least a week or more.
Expand for spoilers: Haha, Haha, Haha. Way more than a week, if Dex does a video a day on VS he'll be done with the DLC sometime around the end of January. There's a lot more than it initially shows you.
Hello, you never tried jumping (press UP or DOWN) when you got to that small room where the enemies kill you easily. In castlevania SotN that makes you get teleported to the inverted castle
Does anyone know what weapon or effect is the water dragon referencing in castlevania? I only know that the rain effect that triggered from the evolution is references to the hydro storm.
The doors you can't open are NOT for now, you'll have to do certain thing to unlock more stuff.... but it is not something you have to do in the map, soooo, can't say too much without spoiling stuff for ya :)
Ngl doing I’m this dlc purist(no weapons other than ode to Castlevania weapons, which means no base weapons either, no upgrades, and no arcanas.) and this character is the hardest to start with out of all of them
So, from what i've seen, i think you need all whip-like weapons to trigger 'spoiler' at that second 2d room Edit: I am an idiot. You need richter to unlock that
I really wish Poncle would stop being so obstinate about doing something about visibility. These lategame runs end up becoming virtually unplayable at times because you simply cannot see *anything*. I really don't understand why they're so obstinate about this one thing despite it affecting playability so much. It's the single worst design decision in the entire game and it's one of the main reasons I've never quite gotten around to completing everything.
Since you said spoilers are ok... I haven't gotten this far myself, but ppl told me there is a secret in the top of the map where the gargoyles are but only the character Richter can unlock it.
Spoilers: the Dex-troyer is your item and it's a legendary melee and it's absolutely amazing. You won't actually get to buy it the first time you see it. It will be too expensive and you'll die the very next round. The 2nd time you see it though, the 2nd time will be amazing and magical!!
You unlocked Alucard! That means Vampire Survivors can officially no longer say that there aren't any Vampires in the game.
