For some reason, this ship having a battle station and so many crew spots makes me think espionage. As though this ship was built to 'look' like a hauler, but is instead packed to the gills with surveillance equipment. The US, USSR, and CCP have all used vessels like that, usually disguised as deep sea fishing trawlers.
Your "relationship" with Cora is the source of much humor. Only Bethesda could unintentionally make a child character so creepy. If they tried, it would fall flat. Thank you for the review and breakdown. This seems like a decent ship, and it's HopeTech, so it gets a bonus point for that. Honestly, though, I think that I prefer the Big Rig or modified (for extra cargo capacity) Stronghold over this.
I’m using the Stronghold that has been refurbished into a Stroud/Eklund ship. I’m using the Cabot bridge and it hauls 15k with around 30 mobility. Turrets all around and some particles for manual fire. It is a frieken tank. It is my Battle freighter/Outpost building vessel. I only use it for those instances. I’m in process of building a Nova ship. Can’t decide which starter ship to use. In my inventory I have a Freestar Vista and a Ecleptic Dragon fire version. Can’t remember the name now. Which do you think I should use?
If you can get this ship or Silent Runner pre level 20 (just being able to fire the turrets is the hard part though... but I might imagine just buying this for the reactor (and the lvl 55 engines in the Silent Runner) and redesigning it into a fighter you can maneuver so the enemy's in your firing range. Love the Cora dialog, you could NOT plan that lol she is SO creepy.
The number of crew stations is really overkill on this ship(12 total, when you can only ever use 9, and only with Sarah being on your ship). When I purchased the Silent Runner version I swapped out the 2x2 cargo hall for the computer core(I really like the partitioned look of it), then swapped out the control station and infirmary for habs with passenger slots. I also went overkill on the weapons, mounting 8 particle beams and 4 missile launchers(leave these at low pips since they're used sparingly for high level Class C targets). So the battle stations and computer core make a lot more sense to process targeting trajectories during combat.
That shipping company better bring a good cash supply in the locker (ref Captain Phillips), cause that’s a slow moving target for anyone with a speed boat.
lol the easy answer to your lack of connection points problem is to take out those USELESS hopetech landing gears on the side!! lol I'm amazed to how little usefulness is gained when you upgraded the engines from Supernova 3100 to 3200s :( this ship might just need a whole new redesign in my case. I mean I got the Silent Runner at 22 and even now at 40 at basically the SAME weight I can't get it to over 63 mobility :( but yeah it's good, I cart around 4500-5000 kg in crap so the 6k cargo still is quite enough for me! and even the hulking mobility is enough to get by. I may have to TOTALLY redesign this thing when the Slayton 6220s come out though :)
Bethesda has to still fix a whole bunch of bugs, i bought the game yesterdeay, and when i entered my ship once, the Frontier, Sarah stood up FROM THE NAV TABLE! I didn´t even know one can sleep on the Nav table! Should be hella uncomfy. And because the ship isn´t really yours, you can barely improve the Frontier.
I normally make my way out to serpentis system right after Kreet. I get me one of those Vu’Ruun ships and then duplicate it right over the frontier ship. Then frontier becomes top of the line. Make sure you have some suppressors equipped on your ship though. It may be a rough go. (Also it’s strange how their ships will be Lvl II and III right at the start. Then you will be lvl 10 and you can’t find them for 10 more levels.)
@@thetradesman7478 They also have some really nice looking ship too, i have to try getting a Va´ruun ship myself... But i don´t have the necessary skills, both in-game and myself, guess i have to practice some more for that.
@@sim.frischh9781 When I leave kreet and attack that crimson fleet base on first mission I’m normally near Lvl20 before I hit the lodge. Also I normally have 3 ships in my inventory and damn near 30k. Just spend some time roaming. Everyone is always in such a hurry to beat the first mission. There is so much there at the start.
@@sim.frischh9781 On kreet there are around 4 to 5 points of interest and normally 3 to 4 side missions there that bring in 3k credits each and tons of XP. Vosco will start to nag you about getting back to the mission also
@@thetradesman7478 The Frontier ship has like a jump of 13, I'm calling BS on that. edit: while saying 'there's so much there at the start' is true... it still blows my mind how you even get what, 23 jump thrust just to GET to Serpentis. I mean, you can buy cheap disruptors and blow passed high level ships all day but... even many pirate/ ecliptic/ spacer ships DON'T have jump drives over 19 at this stage. unless you go pirate and attack Galbank or UC ships... I'm not sure man, are you SURE it's just after Kreet and the initial lodge introduction?

6:51 Secret Battleship? BTW Second Best Captain's Quarters style.

Sometimes when you change modules around a second walk-though would be nice to see the difference 😉
BTW do they have RCS's to help with mobility?
I'll work on getting a second walk-through.
Sadly, the rcs are just aesthetic
