Found your channel today in advance of a photo organising project so I'm finding it very useful. In a spirit of sharing, I've used a program called Namexif from Digicamsoft for a number of years and it has worked well for me. It is free but with a donation option and it uses the photos exif data for renaming. Using year-month-day-hour-minute-second should get a unique name for each photo but there are a lot of easy ways to modify this to suit your own needs. Scaned photos etc need a different approach but it can still be used for that as well. Thanks for all the info!
I use Winsome File Renamer. It is very powerful yet easy to use. It allows the use of existing Keywords or other selected Metadata in the new File Name. It enables most Photo Organizers including Google Photos to search by Keywords.
I love renaming photos because it makes them look pretty as well as searchable... what other tips do you have to make your photos searchable?

I rename on import in Lightroom. A life saver!
