Any new performance updates for this one? Last time I tried the demo it stuttered so bad I had to turn it off because it made me feel weird. But I enjoyed the gameplay.
A story driven Dead Cells game would be awesome. Unfortunately, it sounds like the execution of Foregone could've used a bit of work and $30 seems a bit steep for this in the current market.
the whole metroidvania/roguelite/procedurally generated market is officially saturated and developers need to know that innovation and fresh new ideas in this niche genre are the only things that’ll grab players’ attentions going forward. I understand this is a welcome genre for indie developers to develop titles in but holy hell it seems like a new Dead Cells-esque title comes out every week. and I love a lot of these titles but it’s all starting to blend together. how about a new stealth platformer game like Mark of the Ninja? and I liked where Steamworld Heist was headed with the platformer-meets-XCOM approach..
I'm a huge fan of roguelike/lite platformers but they really are being done to death. I'm not sure exactly what I'd like to see done to reinvigorate the genre but something fresh and new would be a welcome change of pace.
@@icblundell60 have you tried out Mark of the Ninja? it’s I believe from the 2010s but it still holds up well in animation and especially in gameplay. I’m honestly amazed there hasn’t been a sequel. anyway, I think some fresh stealth entries in the platforming genre could refresh it, but at the moment all that seems to come about is the hack-and-slash type and I think Dead Cells was the peak of that for a good while yet. admittedly haven’t played Hollow Night but that seems to also be a contender for many gamers’ fave action platformers of the last few years. Steamworld Heist was an interesting take on a turn-based cover shooter with richocheting bullet mechanics being a huge mechanic in the game, but unfortunately I found it really thin (basically no upgrading or customizing characters or weapons), repetitive, and just didn’t like the aesthetic (steampunk but with a cowboy vibe). Anyway, still worth checking out MotN or Steamworld.
Dead Cells is my fav Switch game so I've been keeping my eye on this since I first saw it last summer. It never did look like it had the same quality of Dead Cells and even though the last trailer looked quite promising I can't say I'm suprised that it came up short. Cheers for the review. Also, just to add, that price is ridiculous.
After playing the demo, I feel like it's more fun than Dead Cells. The loot system is really nice and the gun types are fun too. I had a shotgun and would short hop and blast enemies point blank
No reason to excuse. Gameplay, Leveldesign, Presentation... are all part of the whole story. If one misses the mark all other can't make it good again. So thanks for the good and authentic review 👍🙂.

That is too funny. I also used to wear my older brother’s hand-me-down pants, thinking they were so cool, when in fact they’d gone out of style years earlier.
Thanks for another excellent review, I was hoping for this to be amazing, but it seems middling at best. Normally I wouldn't set such a high bar, but it is too similar to a certain other game to get a purchase from me. I went with Vigil instead, going to get started on that right now. Cheers
I bet if the developers took some notes and patched some of this stuff and maybe added more variety this game would be a solid hit. I’m gonna wait on this and see if they follow through. I’m really hoping they do. I really want to see this game shine
It is game that asks much more from the player's ability than just find super-gear. Even the character upgrade doesn't make the game any easier. It is an interrest concept that is long ago forgoten. I like it.
I had to come back and leave a comment if anyone comes looking for a review. I didn’t play this game on release but since thEn there have been a number of patches from the developer and I’m happy to say the game is super fun. I just got it and I’m having a blast. Give it a chance

If it's not a roguelike I'm immediately more invested in Foregone than Dead Cells. Sorry but roguelike elements are an immediate turn off for me no matter how good the game is.
Just curious as to why you have to press a second time to get to the video after I press on the notification of a vid from you? This doesn't happen on any other channel, they always launch immediately
I got tired of the over-saturation of rogue-like so I pre-ordered. I was underwhelmed by the game design, just kind of bland. Game is fun, boss fights are cool. Product overall feels forgettable.
Dang. I was looking forward to this. I'll wait for a patch or two and a large sale. Already waited months after its Epic Games release so I can wait some more.
