No actually try to think from her pov It's not that she didn't love her own son, it's just that if she protected her own son, she would've become a good mother but that could've lead to the prince's death. Those times cannot be compared to our lives nowadays. In those days the royal family took the responsibility of not only their own family but also the entire Kingdom. Now if she let the prince die that means banwir would be the king..a king who is selfish and doesn't care about his subjects. She could instill good values into the Kunwar and make him a better king and provide a better life for everybody in the kingdom bhale hi that means balidaan of her own family. She's not being selfish here or that she loves the prince more or anything like that. Kehte hain na Dharm soorya hai to Prem chandr hai Yadi Prem ko chunoge toh sheethaltha prapth hogi saath hi raatri ka andhakaar bhi Yadi dharm ko chunoge toh prakash prap hogi- tumhe bhi,parivaar ko bhi aur rashtr ke praja ko bhi. Here she followed her dharm in protecting the prince and inturn protecting everyone in the kingdom
If she would saved her son nobody would know to her today. She is one of the most prestigious women of India. Also India would go in Darkness for all time. Actually she saved the future of coming generation.
