Also yeah, sorry I had to re-upload this thanks to the random title card that made it's way, very aesthetically, into the middle of my video. Sorry for the confusion!
Your personal style which is a combo of beautiful scenery, calm narration, wistful, contemplative, deep, relaxing music brings it all together. No wonder you're influencing the algorithm :p
Hannah, you have to know how important these types of videos are to me. What with all of the societal stress being literally dog-piled on an almost hourly basis during these times, you have consistently managed to create works of moving beauty that create in me a sense of homesickness for a place I've never set foot in. Your work (in particular these immersive silent pieces) has become a welcome oasis in a world gone mad, and while a mere "thanks" seems a woefully inadequate expression of gratitude, I hope you realize just how much it means. Domo arigato gozaimasu. :)
It really feels like you've found a distinct personality with these videos, Hannah, and I love it so much. I've always enjoyed the more "conventional vlogs" too, but honestly it's refreshing to watch a travel video without someone shoving their face in front of the camera every 5 seconds. Thanks for all the beautiful photography.
These kind of videos really highlight the beauty of Japan the best I think. No unnecessary talking, just a place as it is :) I really want to go hiking alone more as well.
That opening shot with the trains had me mesmerized. Passing the windows of the other train makes you focus on the reflection and then on the other train. Back and forth. Back and forth.
Thank you Hannah. Another well produced video with perfect music - as you stated. Your solo videos completely capture your solitude along the backdrop of Japan’s quiet essence.
I love the silent style for a solo hike, but also the shift to talk to the camera. There's always a point during a solo hike when something happens that you want to share with another. The ice cream did it.
Your videos are amazing. right now, during this lock down they helped so much . I do not know if you ever read this comment, but you helped me through the depression of the lockdown and staying home during the past months with your videos. Love from Iran.
Oh Hannah you are so next level these days. I just adore that you keep it real and don't preach in your videos. Such a beautiful respite from these crazy times. ✌️❤️🙏
8:40 The swastika has been used in tons of different cultures all over the world for tens of thousands of years. It just seems to be one of those simple, geometric symbols that developed independently in different places and times throughout history. The swastika was usually used in a religious or cultural way. Native American tribes (like the Navajo) used the swastika in healing rituals. In European history, the symbol was associated with Norse gods like Thor and Odin. And in Asia, the symbol had strong ties to Hinduism and Buddhism.
I would also add that the "evil symbol" hands go the opposite direction and the whole thing is on a 45 degree angle. The colors are also important if you were trying to represent that. It is quite different. But people haven't studied enough to know those detail changes I guess.
BTW. On Google Maps, Japanese Buddhist temples are marked with a 卍 . In early 20th century Europe, the sign (in either orientation) had become popular and used for all sorts of things before being adopted by the nazis.
@@maiy8786 Well the Japanese government was thinking of changing the sign in light of the 2020 Olympics on the pretense that Foreigners would not understand that its not a Nazi propaganda symbol. Same as changing the onsen and post office signs as onsen may get mistaken as coffee and post office sign is unknown to foreigners. I really really hope that they don't change, because countries shouldn't change for people, that kills the fun out of travel and removes all harmless diversity in the world.
Another great video, beautifully shot. It reminds me of what I loved about travelling around Japan when I lived there compared to returning as a tourist for short holidays - the flexibility to visit these amazing places out of peak times, when it's so much less crowded.
I absolutely love your documentaries in Japan 🇯🇵. Japan is very especial and has got a place in my heart . Seeing your videos and how still/peaceful yet so beautifully documented brings me joy. And yeah sure I agree with you, about music 💯. Always looking forward to your next upload. Thank you very much Hanna 🙏🏼.
Fantastic music and ambient sound. Fantastic videography as always. I dont watch a lot of vlogers bcuz they just talk and record their days bcuz its simplest thing to do but you have talent you are not a normal vloger and it makes your content unique. Keep up the fantastic work.
Beautiful video. Your music choices definitely add a lot to your videos and I also love all the details you show of what you encounter on your journey. 👍❤️
I really enjoyed this video...I like quite walks, thank you for the extra effort of walking ahead on screen and walking back off screen to retrieve the camera. Great work!
Your video shoot is artistic and wonderful. The beauty of Japan is on the country side. You understand it very well and you are truly a great traveler. This beautiful place is perfectly reproduced. Thank you very much!!
I lived in Himeji for six years, and I have many fond memories of escaping to Shoshzan or Hirominesan for a relaxing and quiet day of hiking. Thanks for the video...it really captures the feeling of being there!
You really are a gifted film maker Hannah, and yes the music you select works but it's your placement and how you combine it with the location sound, and the photography. The opening sequence was fantastic!
I love Japan and not being able to travel because of Covid is hitting hard, I really enjoy the videos you have been posting lately because they fill the void thats been left in my soul with not being able to travel. Please keep posting these amazing videos I really look forward to watching more.
Hannah, you continue to amaze me with how much you've grown in your filming skills. You're one of the only people I follow where when they upload, it's like a breath of fresh air. Keep up the fantastic work.
I appreciate the time and effort you put into taking us along your trips. As someone who really enjoys this type of exploration in Japan (and ice cream - I've had over 250 there and live to tell about it), you do great justice to the subtlety and stillness that makes these locations so beautiful.
The music, the scenery, and the walking shots all come together to create such a pleasant viewing experience! Almost too pleasant lol it makes me forget how tiring hiking can actually be!!
I love how you just let the video speak for itself 😊. Always very calming too! Shots are amazing as always. ❤ And this color grading was perfect, nothing for you to worry about!
seeing videos like this warms my heart . i miss japan so much . trip #4 to the country is a no go this year due to Covid-19 . hopefully everything will be back to normal soon and we can all travel back to japan
I'm going through a rough time and this was a perfect little vacation for my stressed out mind. Beautiful footage, editing and music. Thank you so much, Hannah
I made it! I've officially watched all of your videos and followed the journey from day one to now lol! Never have I ever watched, let alone cared about, any sort of vlog before this one. I happened upon your channel randomly while searching for expat. insight on Japan, and I am so grateful I did. Your work has inspired me and lifted my spirits daily for the last month or so during some really tough, sad times... I don't know if you will see this, but I just want to say thank you! Your impact has been more profound than you know, and I hope you continue to always pursue the things that bring you the most joy.
It must be so much nicer travelling around Japan now that the country is on lockdown and there are no tourists! I really love the quietness of the places you've been going to lately, and I hope they're usually like that and not due to the lack of people. Beautiful work here, Hana! I just subscribed ♥️
omg, I love your vlogs. The cinematography (I think thats what its called) in all of them is absolutely amazing and I think thats what makes you different compared to other vloggers. Keep it up dude :D
Thank you Hannah for reminding us there was a time before the corona virus when you could find a place that was peaceful and in some places still is. 😀😷
We already had tickets booked for Japan way back in 2019. This video is making having to cancel our trip hurt even more. I really love these kinds of videos you make. If this was the video you were racking your brain over the color profile you shot it with, don't worry, you did a great job editing it. I'm sure a lot of people, like me, will love it.
Shoshazan Engyo-ji is so amazing!!!! Last year I travelled to Himeji just want to see Himeji castle, but this temple also impressed me completely. Thanks for your video. It reminds me of the travel.
I use Artlist and saved your playlist long time ago☺️ The ropeway ride part made me in a bit of tears to see how beautiful it is... Thank you always for such an inspirational work Hannah san!😆
Hey Hannah! I hardly write any comments... but you're one of the few TH-camrs (maybe the only one?) that make my comment-on-this little monsters come out of their shells xD... Just wanted to say that your film making is so amazing! You've made so much progress... be very proud of yourself! Thank you for your videos, they always bring me peace!
I'm really depressed everytime I open TH-cam these days. Really makes me want to travel so much (especially back to Japan). And yet here I am going through another lockdown in Melbourne 😫😫😫It's a good video though Hannah. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoy how everything is so mossy there. Reminds me when I was a young boy in El Salvador. Watching your videos just makes me want to pick up and go!
Hannah, love your passionate videos of Japan. I should be there right now for the Olympics and travel but instead stuck at home behind my desk working :( Keep them coming please, I miss the place so much.
Virtual Japan is better than no Japan! :) Lovely video Hannah (Queen of the squats!) Some definite life quotes in there. " It's strange but I like it. " & "It's worth it for the ice cream." Hope you're doing good over there. X
My late wife and i were always poor but rich in love which to me is priceless, thanks to the internet i can sofa travel around japan, unlike in the past never travelled.
FIRST
You sure are
Also yeah, sorry I had to re-upload this thanks to the random title card that made it's way, very aesthetically, into the middle of my video. Sorry for the confusion!
Ha I watched the first upload! So I am more first than you!
Currently Hannah ... it’s okay
So you are your fan number one 😄
I really love how you tell a story without words.
And the photography part of it is so enjoyable. Absolutely love your videos!
yes...just like an exact copy of kraig adams - yes really original
Yes copy cat of kraig adams, no hate, but I prefer the talking hannah
this kind of video is new to me....I really like it...it is immersive in a sense that I kinda feel im in her shoes...I like it..
Your personal style which is a combo of beautiful scenery, calm narration, wistful, contemplative, deep, relaxing music brings it all together.

Me too hun, me too. These video's are godsend haha.
Great comment, I feel the same!
How well you put to words what I feel. Well written, very well written. This is better than therapy.

This video shows for real how it is to travel alone. Every lonely break going deep into yourself or into your food. It was really poetic :)
These kind of videos really highlight the beauty of Japan the best I think. No unnecessary talking, just a place as it is :)
I really want to go hiking alone more as well.
That opening shot with the trains had me mesmerized. Passing the windows of the other train makes you focus on the reflection and then on the other train. Back and forth. Back and forth.
A happy accident!
Great video Hannah 😊
The music was so calming and the cinematography was so well blended with the music.
Yes Hannah
Need more of this kind of videos! Helps me (and partner) relax and reflect.. and just get through this difficult time. Thanks Hannah and Kraig.
My fav hiker both
I think you two should make some hiking vid together. We will enjoy
Thanks you both, for the peaceful and enjoyable hiking vlogs.
Your videos are only getting better and better! Enjoyed this one so much.
Your videos are amazing. right now, during this lock down they helped so much . I do not know if you ever read this comment, but you helped me through the depression of the lockdown and staying home during the past months with your videos. Love from Iran.
Another top notch cinematic extravaganza...lovely....thank you Hannah.
Oh Hannah you are so next level these days. I just adore that you keep it real and don't preach in your videos. Such a beautiful respite from these crazy times. ✌️❤️🙏

Thanks for actually taking the time to note that this wasn't just some random Nazi crap. Research saves people the trouble of being triggered.

Here in Taiwan, Buddhist temples or "locations" are also donated the same way.
Beautiful video lovely Hannah!!! ❤ Such a beautiful and peaceful place!!! 😊
Indeed, the music in ur videos are sooo nice and are so matching with the video content. :) enjoyed it a lot. Thank you Hannah.
Hannah has a better eye for photography and a better ear for music and sound design than most vloggers. She deserves so many more subscribers.
Always a pleasure and stress releaving watching your videos. Talking is not always needed for good videos. Well done Hannah
I finally realised why I love your video style so much... the soft piano music + beautiful shots of Japan scenery is like a real life Miyazaki film!
Actually some of the music I was listening to to add to the video reminded me a lot of Miyazaki!
Another great video, beautifully shot. It reminds me of what I loved about travelling around Japan when I lived there compared to returning as a tourist for short holidays - the flexibility to visit these amazing places out of peak times, when it's so much less crowded.
I already adore Hannah for her personality but the cinematography and the editing skills are getting more amazing.
あなたのchannel知ったばかりですが、心が洗われる映像ばかりで有難い。
都会は何かと疲れがたまるけど、動画観て頑張れそうです。ありがとう。
I love your videos as always. I feel so calm.
Wow, I'm a new fan. So refreshing to watch "silent" travel video and just let the footages speak for themselves

Beautiful work Hannah - super serene.
i have been to Shoshazan and truly praise your sense that chose Shoshazan, not the castle!!
I appreciate the time and effort you put into taking us along your trips. As someone who really enjoys this type of exploration in Japan (and ice cream - I've had over 250 there and live to tell about it), you do great justice to the subtlety and stillness that makes these locations so beautiful.
That intro with the trains was cinematic giiirrl!! B.E.A.utiful.

Man I can really use a getaway like this right about now.

Basically what was going through my head. I feel like I'm on the brink of booking a ticket.
Thank you for putting together another great video Hannah! The editing and music are on point! Just an awesome video all around.
omg, I love your vlogs. The cinematography (I think thats what its called) in all of them is absolutely amazing and I think thats what makes you different compared to other vloggers. Keep it up dude :D
First of all, the music is always well placed, and well chosen. Love it.
Second, Maybe I am a minority but I am always okay with mid video commentary.
Thank you Hannah for reminding us there was a time before the corona virus when you could find a place that was peaceful and in some places still is. 😀😷
