I love a historical anecdote about the Japanese Alps. Mount Tsurugi remained as Japan's last unexplored mountain until 1907. It was considered a great achievement in the Japanese mountaineering world if they succeeded in climbing to the steep mountain which was compared to hell. Then, in 1907, when Japanese team succeeded in reaching the summit, they discovered a cane that was used by a practitioner of Shugendō (syncretism of Shinto and Buddhism) 1200 years ago. That is, Mount Tsurugi was already climbed 1200 years ago. When I climbed Mount Tsurugi in 2018, I imagined what the man felt on the top of the mountain 1200 years ago.

As a film school graduate with a lifetime passion for filming, I can only say that I am overwhelmed by the beauty of your shots, Hannah! You have a true eye for aesthetic shots and I notice the effort you put into making every shot look special and beautiful. I don’t know if other viewers experience similar things, but for me as a filmmaker at least, I am deeply touched. You manage to capture a strong and unique emotion in every single image that, underlined by the beautiful touching music used, just moves me to tears. I never saw any other TH-camr achieving this with nature shots. I think you truly found your unique style here and I am convinced that there is so much more you can do with it! Way to go girl! 💯

There was a time when I hiked and rode a bike for hundreds of miles.. The mountain bike trails and walking every where.. I still walk now but not like before.. I have all those memories.. Do not take that for granted.. The only words that fit are enjoy it while you can.. Time goes by so fast don't turn around because its right there..

Another beautifully crafted upload! I went to Kamikochi 14 years ago with my Mom when I was still in Japan (I am a Japanese expat living in Toronto, Canada). I remember how refreshingly cold the water of the river was in July. I would love to visit Kamikochi again. By the way, the view @5:57 is so surreal!

Not unlike you, I am in love with the Japanese wilderness and solo hiking. Your mannerisms and emotions parallel my own when seeking the reward of the hike...the peak. Unknown to me today, I stumbled across your video, but, what was also unknown to me today was that I would fall in love with you. While I know life is complicated and never as it seems, I was encapsulated seeing your expressions and reliving similar experiences through you. Can't wait to be back in Japan in less than a month (for a couple months) solo hiking.

Hannah, just a beautiful video, if anything I was drawn in by the music, playing diligently with the visual terrain, heart and soul stuff. Nature is just alive, our commander-in-chief. Great shot selection and use of the drone, can you get the tripod setting and 1 meter per second movement with yours? Phillip Bloom pressed DJI over some years to get that sturdy simple movement incorporated. Just a suggestion. Thanks for the Wonder............

At this point I actually welcome squarespace as the best sponsor in YT. Like virtually everybody knows about them yet they just never stop pushing sponsors to many creators. Many aren't even really that related to websites. I also used squarespace and honestly it's pretty good too so i don't mind and they don't really take a long part of the creator's content unlike many others. So yeah, keep on going squarespace! Please keep sponsoring Hannah!

Haha :D Actually the Kanoshidaira campground in that area was closed for tents just a month ago, due to an „incident“ with one of those guys. Doesn’t happen very often, though, I think. So usually you’ll be fine, as long as you are careful and know how to behave in case of an encounter.

@@tomy34188 yeah, i remember hearing about the lady that was attacked in her tent over some curry ramen. that would be so terrifying! I live in Shinano and we got a tonnnn of bear warnings last month. We were even told to help eat the local corn as much as possible because it was luring them into town
