I guess it's the same when you talk about camera lol. Cameras are meant to take pictures, but you put so much passion into it and tbh that's the reason i watch your videos!
Yeah that’s how I feel about lots of things. Yes you can break down anything to it’s most basic function, but there’s more to it than that. Things can have art or emotion to them that set them apart from other similar things. Like yeah two cars may drive you to the store just fine, but they can be completely different experiences if you just look deeper. Not even just stats and stuff, but also aesthetics and feel.
A little trick I learned about the Polaroid from another channel is to just depress the shutter released button and not depress the red button that charges the flash if you don't want to use the flash. I feel like that would work well if you have enough ambient light and don't want to wait around for the flash to charge.
I love Polaroid design, it´s timeless for me as 80´s cars, black plastic was quite popular in 80´s and I like it. Btw very good light work, colorful light give it nice retro look.
Yeah I will say though the plastic is creaky, the camera would be weird if it were metal. I doubt anyone could call the Polaroid ugly, it’s like perfectly retro. Thanks about the lighting too, it was definitely a good experiment for me
Funny to see how today's generation treats Polaroid cameras. The trick is, it's not that serious. It is meant for just capturing the moment, not for "art", and that is what makes it "art". Any time you see real legit Polaroid pics, they're just thumb -tacked onto a cork board or similar. No one took them seriously, just a snap of whatever needed to be snapped at the time.
actually all of those including the gas station photo are genuinely really cool! i take polaroids alot! temperature has a major affect on them as well, but yeah i love the lighting of the lights ontop of the gas station thats super neat! lighthouse photo is certainly my favourite! wow! love these shots!
I think the Polaroid camera is better now than it was back in the day because it allows you to take a photo that never ends up anywhere near the big tech cloud. It's instant gratification when that picture pops out. You get a Back to the Future moment watching your subjects appear before your eyes. There's no negative like there is with other film cameras, which is a negative (see what I did there?) but that just makes this new photo you hold in your hand that much more special. It is the only one that will ever exist. The film cost is a huge drawback ($2.50 per shot!), but it does force me to take my time and make every picture count. I find myself planning out great shots instead of just grabbing a lazy cell phone capture. This was a great video and photos too! You and your MR2 in the alley was my favorite.

These cameras were the ultimate cheap photography from my childhood and my mom's photo albums have lots of them plus Kodak Instamatic 126 pictures. They were just the standard everyday camera back in the day. I am glad to see someone your age embracing analog photography and I have hope Poloroid will make a full recovery.
When you charge the flash, it stays charged for several minutes, afterwards, so you can be prepared for a shot. There are other tips and features, you can find the manual, online, and read it.
Some of the Polaroids of the 1980s did have sonar autofocus. They looks largely the same as your camera but they had a gold disc on the front. A good example would be the sun 660. Don't quote me on this but I think over the years they've been tinkered with the light meter especially during flash exposures on different models. Some of the older ones don't let as much ambient light in the exposure and some of the later models when using the Flash causing the subject too often be against the very dark background even if the room was brightly and evenly lit. The original Polaroid film which from primland good old days was so so vibrant and dependable plastic lens really affects the picture that much in my opinion.
It’s automated so it cannot he turned off. You’d have to either shoot in bright light where it is not needed or cover it manually. However the film is not very sensitive to light and strong light like a flash is most often needed or the shot will come out too dark.
I know this is an old comment now, but the ACTUAL answer is, you press in the button BEHIND the red button, the red button primes the flash, and it presses against the button behind it to activate the shutter. The behind button is the one that actually takes the shot
600 film should be the only Polaroid that exist I have a 1990 camera and it should be the only camera that exist retro Polaroid is much better than new Polaroid I don't know why they made the new Polaroid camera so shitty and so small the film sucks you might as just not even take a damn picture they're so small
Quite frankly, it's a big and ugly camera. Awkward to use in public. Much better go with the Impulse version which is compact and actually doesn't look too bad and also has a slightly bigger viewfinder
The Instax cameras definitely take a better photo (in a traditional sense), better detail & colour reproduction. But to me, they almost look too good. Sometimes look almost like a digital print, and it loses the fun artistic flare of that classic Polaroid look. At the end of the day, only a Polaroid shot looks like a Polaroid shot! Deffo got a point on the price though. However this is because to keep producing the film for the old 600 series, the battery has got to stay in the cartridge. On the newer i-type cameras by Polaroid, the battery is in the camera and not in the film and is subsequently cheaper. But I suppose at the end of the day, the more people buy the film, the more likely it is that it'll eventually come down in price!
Fun fact: the I-types are made by “Polaroid Originals” not actually the original polaroid company. They were actually first name “The Impossible Project” and they made film for the old Polaroids since Polaroid stopped making them
I'm used to the form factor of Polaroid cameras that when I switch to an Instax I really have to pay attention and make sure I'm not blocking the light meter because I have the mini 11 and they stuck the light meter on the edge instead of the Middle where it is on most of their other models.

Btw, polaroid film is very temperature sensitive, that's why your outdoor photos are colder in terms of color :)

The battery is in the film pack. There’s no real on switch other than the shutter button

You can, but it’s just clunky to carry around and you do technically risk scratching the lens as it acts as a cover.
