    I love how you present yourself. You are a great storyteller! So much of your experience resonates with me. I worked in high end interior design for years and found out the hard way about personal cell phones and customers. This is something i ask about now after an interview, if an offer has been extended and let the company know another entity owns the phone so its out of my control to hand over the #. Its worked at least 50% of the time. Ohhh retail is so challenging!

      Thank you for such a kind comment, and for taking the time to watch!
      And what a great tip! Such a smart workaround that can end up leading to so much less stress in the long run. I'm sure others will appreciate that too, so thank you for sharing!

    Many years ago, I worked @ a high end store for few years. I rotated thru few diff depts, or even cover during lunch etc. My main area I spent most of my years was handbags, accessories & jewelry which were considered 1 dept. So I’d always run back & forth. I went thru lots of training & refreshers to stay current, on fake makes. I can spot 1 from across the store. Also, the loopholes that ppl know of loss prevention is 🤯🤯 I’ve seen ppl legit drag an entire rack that was closest to the doors, outside! And they couldn’t be stopped. Bc they didn’t do the steps of theft for LP to swoop in. They could only report it & blacklist them. They have to be seen retrieving the item, concealing, & be outside in order to be apprehended. 😦

    Question: I tried to exchange a pair of shoes for a half size smaller (they were a gift) but the employee said they were returned. I didn’t have a receipt bc they were a gift . What do employees see when they scan an item like shoes?

    • @dominicmartin5837

      You have to look up the transaction by the purchaser's phone number or email, simply scanning the shoes will tell you nothing except the price.

    Customer service jobs takes a lot of patience really though sometimes it's really hard to please everyone it's tiresome

    Would you lose your commission if items bought get returned? And would that commission be taken from you right away?

    • @jenyc
      @jenyc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Basically, if something was returned, the amount of the return would be subtracted from your $10,000 goal that you needed to meet each week. You needed to meet that $10k before you would receive any commission. So the return wouldn't be taken from your commission amount, necessarily, but they definitely made things more difficult.
      If the return was several weeks after the item(s) were initially purchased, any commission you received from the sale would not be taken from your bank account, but instead, the amount of the return would be taken from your current week's $10k goal. I hope that makes sense!

      Also, though... it's been well over 2 years since I've worked there lol, things could very well be different at this point

    Was making sales challenging?

    • @jenyc
      @jenyc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes and no. I definitely tried a lot harder when I first started and it wasn't too difficult, but towards the end of my time there I basically gave up and so I didn't make as many sales then haha

    I’ve always wanted to work at saks ever since I first knew about it but now idk if I should It kinda feels completely different than my job at Macy’s 😅

    • @jenyc
      @jenyc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh no, I'm so sorry! I'm not sure how it would compare to working at Macy's, but I'd definitely do a LOT of research on the position you're interested in before you decide to accept a job offer at Saks. Not that it's a bad company by any means, but definitely know what you're getting yourself into ❤️ Thank you so much for watching!

      Mmmh yea I’d say it’s way different than Macys. While the pay is probably neck to neck I don’t think macys has these draw method
