Ive had vizslas my whole life growing up and next month I get my first vizsla living on my own as an actual adult and I cant wait to hear that specific vizsla cry whine again I wasnt ready to miss that sound
They've become very popular here in the past few years. Not sure if it'd be worth a look for you but there is a Facebook group that rehomes Vizslas from Hungary. Vizslamentes I think is the name.
He is so beautiful, just a little overweight for the vizsla breed. I also have a vizsla. His name is Kal, 3.5 years old and with him, it’s never boring. Beautiful dogs. Exceptional and unique character. They should not weigh over 30kg (male dogs) that is the maximum. They easily gain weight if they are not active enough, although I see that your Dexter is very active. Maybe the problem is in the diet. Just cut down on his meals, don’t give him anything in between and with a run in a week he will already be on the right track. Divide one meal a day that he is allowed to eat at this adulthood into two, morning and evening. When it reaches the desired weight, here and there you can treat it with raw vegetables or fruits carrots, celery, mango, apple etc. All the best from the bottom of my heart to you and your dog. An interesting combination. 🤗 He's definitely cute even though he's a chubby "little" guy. 🙃 I hope he loses weight because no matter how healthy he looks his weight can seriously impair his health. His quality of life is questionable because his musculature definitely suffer. Hips the most. Unfortunately, they usually have the most problems with their hips. Hip dysplasia is their genetic disease. Weight alone and constant mobility, the activity to build a muscular body, can prevent this problem as much as possible.
@@schmidtythekidd There is a new breed named Vizslador (Labrador x Vizsla). But also this new breed is more athletic that the Vizsla Dexter in this video (and should be fed like an Athlet).
@@WholeLifeCrisis I’m sorry to disappoint you, but your vet obviously has no idea about the concept when it comes to this breed. My vizsla (male) is 3.5 years old, height 64cm and 30kg. His body is muscular and athletically built. It is a dog that must not exceed its weight. Not because of the rules but because of health and longevity. His musculature suffers. Hips especially. Don't get mad, this is all well-intentioned. 🤗 We love our dogs by giving them the healthiest and most fun lives while they are with us, because they give it all back to us with their unconditional love.
Oh boy. That is a tough decision. We've had the Vizsla since a puppy. There is another video on my channel from 8 years ago showing the litter being hand raised. Dexter is such an awesome dog. We adopted Morty (whippet/lurcher mix) let year. He was 16 months old when we got him. He is also an awesome dog. From our experience, the whippet/lurcher is far more easy going. Good luck choosing! I will say I'm happy I've been able to spend time with both.
Have just subscribed to your videos. It's lovely to see how much Dexter loves the water, sea and freshwater. Where was his breeder based? I will be moving to Anglesey and hope to get a vizsla once I am settled in.

I get this a lot. He sees the vet regularly and they've assured us his weight is appropriate for his size.
How are they in the winter? I'm in Canada and we get like -26..

Wow you guys have a Vizsla and Whippet? Those are the two dogs I'm trying to decide between right now.
