Bad Med Bosses specifically talks about a dirty little secret in Medicine. Doctors are often subpar managers. We struggle to support the needs of workers around us and deal with bad things like bullies in Medicine. This channel hopes to correct that by sharing stories about both good and bad bosses in Medicine as well as advice for both trainees and the bosses.

What sort of inappropriate or illegal questions have you been asked in an interview?

Is it inappropriate for interviewers to ask why you weren't hired for a similar job at your current hospital and if you're only interested in this job because you missed out elsewhere?

It would depend on the way it was asked. But it’s probably not discriminatory. There are obviously better ways of asking “why do you want to work for us”. Was this asked of you? If so, I’d love to know your response!!

Why are you wearing rings on your fingers ? Did your Astrologer advice these ? Do you believe in these things in this 21st century ? -- were asked by the viva/practical examiner during my Medical graduation. My prompt response was -- The reason I'm wearing diamond ring is because my parents have gifted it to me and they can "afford" it. After the exam was over, I immediately reported this nonsense to the HOD, who banned that person from taking exam again in our college. Exams in medical line is equivalent to interviews.
