Online auctions I just saw one of these artists sculptures in an estate sale I bid on yesterday (but it was clear and his clear sculptures don't sell well)
One of the things I specialize in is Lucite bangle bracelets. I have not yet found a signed piece. Alexis Bittar and Sorbol bracelets are definitely on my bucket list. A weird thing about Lucite bangles right now is that demand has gone up and they are harder to find and more expensive to source. At the same time, the prices people pay for them have gone down. Some friends just sourced a Lucite bar cart, I am so envious!
I love that you do these videos. It gives me info on things that I wouldn't necessarily look for or seek out, so if I come across something, I am better equipped to consider it!
Lucite is actually a trademark name for a synthetic polymer thermoplastic acrylic. Most traditional bathroom sink knobs are made of acrylic " lucite". So if you have knobs like this take a look at them and touch them and tap them. Honestly I still have a hard time deciding whether or not the piece I have is indeed acrylic. Major collectors know their stuff the last thing I want is an unhappy customer requesting a not as described refund. Lol
Hey there I watch your videos all the time and today I spotted a beautiful Laura Ashley light weight quilt with two sham king size I believe with scalloped edges at the bargains and blessings in Wildwood have a blessed day
There are hundreds of lower dollar ones. I do the higher as it helps to know types of items as the majority even similar will be lower dollar and more easy to find
Thank you for this video. I'm going to have to go back through my inventory because I thought everything was just plastic 😂 I've had a plastic vase that I haven't been able to identify that's from the 70s I believe. However, I can't, for the life of me, figure out why it has an old barcode with $165. It's plastic! 😂
Thank you so much for these research videos! I’ve been a reseller for over 12 years, and I always learn something new from you. Also, your hair looks nice wavy like that. ❤️
When I was in college im the 80's lucite was popular. For one of my art class projects i made a lucite backgammon set. I still have it! I guess it would be good money now - even tho I'm not a famous artist. 🤷♀️
Hi Kat!!! I just love your shows and have been enjoying them for about three years now. I know you have done a video on shipping and I have not watched it for a while, but do you have one that is specifically on how to do freight shipping by chance?
Loved this one, Kat!! So interesting!! Thank you for doing the research! Have you ever found/sold the Lucite decor taper candles with the gold or silver flecks in them?
You have a great channel, kudos. Thanks for all the info you gave us. Question: I see a lot of good auctions in ebay US, but it seem ebay here in Europe (except UK) it’s almost dead. It’s my perception wrong?
Soo Frederick Hart is the same artist who sculpted the Three Soldiers at Vietnam Veterans Memorial and other very famous sculptures. He is most famous for Ex Nihilo at the Washington National Cathedral. I learned about all of his art because we had one of his cross sculptures to sell at an estate sale.

The title structure makes me wonder if the Charles Hollis Jones one was $3200 for just a chair? This was a wowzer! I've sold some lucite flowers for a killer profit b4 but your starting point here has my mind doing flips! I passed up a weird lucite set of coasters for $2 the other day that are haunting me 😂 I knew better too!
I have a MCM lucite ? Acrylic? top wooden based coffee table. I picked up last year for 10 dollars. Now I am curious . My mother would have called it cheap plastic furniture. I always learn something from you on your videos.
I just picked up a Wyland numbered limited edition dolphin sculpture at an auction for 51$. I see the same design for sale on eBay asking 950. They are still out there!!
I have a question not related to lucite but I keep forgetting to ask it. Does pottery always sell decent or is it something that is up and down? I found a piece that to be honest I only picked it up because it was really weird looking. (I always gravitate towards weird). The signature is Luis Blanco and it sounds like his mother was very popular. I can’t find anything like this with google lens.
My girlfriend and I went to several estate sales this weekend and she kept saying, “I wish the Nurse Flipper was here to tell us about this stuff.”
Lol lol I hope you found some good stuff!
Your skin looks beautiful you should start selling whatever products you are using!
I agree with you! I want Kat’s secrets! 😆
Lol lol kats secrets are a good vlogging camera
@@TheNurseFlipper I need to walk around with one of those on my face. 😂
@@sarsarsvintagejewelry hahahahah
Some people just seem to have too much money and they seem to just throw money around judging from this lucite video. What an eye opener.
I wonder where you would buy or source what Kat shows us? I never see it in estate sales and thrift stores.
LOL and I'm glad they do so I can sell it LOL

Ohhhhh that sounds awesome! Where do you source most from?
Most of my lucite bangles come from lots I buy online. Any time I come across one in the wild, I
snag it. I have more than a hundred.

I have never looked for the UK specifically, but if items are desirable running auctions works well no matter the location.

Thanks for an interesting video. I had no idea at the value as such. AND you look so pretty on here. Quite beautiful. Just admiring....😉👍❤️
Thank you so much!
I think it’s Helmut as in Hell - Moot. Maybe I am wrong LOL but I think I heard that pronunciation previously:)
I want to do online sales as you do, but I can barely use my phone, much less a computer..
It's really not too hard to do

I would search his name it really depends on maker and if he's in demand
Unbelievable 🌞
For sure
What year are "vintage" bowling balls? I recently sent off my 1070s bowling ball to Goodwill. Tell me it wasnt lucite??
Anything over 20 years ago 2004... scary huh
Wow
😊😊😊
How do you test for lucite?
I do not know unfortunately, maybe search google or youtube I'm not sure that there is an actual test for it
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Omg!
Lol lol yes
