This is a major problem with the entertainment industry of today. Either they hire multiple writers who don't bother to read the work that's already been done on the exact same project or they don't remember what they themselves already wrote. I can maybe understand that if their job was writing software because you might be talking about millions of lines of code that's already in a given project, but not when it's a script for a 2 hour movie.

Because it's logically impossible to do so. It goes fundamentally against the lore and understanding of the SW universe. Well done, Az. I had no idea how well you were doing till I saw that old clip of yours', then seeing you side by side. The difference is striking. Good on ya.
You hit the nail on the head, it wasn't so much the movies but the marketing & response. I will never forget going to TLJ and half way enjoying it until that night, when I discussed the movie online. The company created a toxic culture that would not allow fan discussion, which is a thing that had been going on for decades. You were not allowed to dislike the movie. You were not allowed to even like it and have problems. Since then I haven't paid for a single SW product and I never will again. These are people who despise me as an audience member even more than they despise the IP. Screw them.
Pretty much. Same scenario here. I could have written your comment. Really something that just a few of us, a small vocal minority, took down such a major franchise and company! As if.
Same garbage happens on Formula One auto racing web sites. I left 2 of them and only read now. The comment mods play favorites. Driverwise I have my favorites. But at the end of the day, it's entertainment and means nothing. I don't begrudge anyone excelling. But, if you aren't "All in" you are the enemy. Many of these sites are like a North Korean show of anguish when a "Kim" there dies. Who can out cry the others, so they can be seen are more worthy.
Right there with you. When I heard they bought Star Wars, I was ecstatic. My thinking was “Well George isn’t doing much with it anymore besides clone wars and merch. Most of the work is being done by fans and EU books and video games. So if all of this was to also have the resources and support of one of if not the biggest media company on earth, which is known for it’s amazing stories and movies and characters and magical entertainment and amusement parks and cruises, how in the world could this possibly go wrong?” Literally thought it was the beginning of a revived and resurged Star Wars that would take the world by storm and be the biggest and best franchise of all time. Then I find out they got rid of and discontinued the EU. I was sad about this, but I figured “Eh. There’s some not as great stories in there too. I’m sure they can do something just as good if not better.” Then came force awakens. I came out of it very enthusiastic. Acknowledged it had several concerning flaws, and was heart broken with what happened with Han Solo, and wished they did more with Leia, but I could still see the massive potential and was so hyped to see the return of Luke. Kept rewatching it on Blue Ray at home and kept looking at theories and star wars lore channels and stuff. Then Rogue One, I personally came out from it liking it. It had a slow first half, but it slowly built up. It wasn’t like it was just nothing happening. So I just figured it was a slow burner that built up to a fantastic and awesome climax at the end. To this day I still find Scarif to be one of if not my favorite Star Wars battles. It genuinely felt like a Star Wars war movie, and I had hope they’d keep doing stuff like that and making it even better and better, while also improving on building and developing the slower first halves of these movies. But then… came… THAT MOVIE… we all know it by now. Essentially the complete assassination of the original Star Wars. I came out numb, not sure what to think. But then as time went on, thinking about it more, talking about it more, the more I realized how much I hated it and how horribly wrong it was in every way. Then I see all the stuff where behind the scenes they did it all deliberately, and dropped the masks and went after life long fans like me, who loved Star Wars through the thick and thin and even with all its faults and flaws. When that happened, it sadly wasn’t over yet for me. For me it wasn’t the end. It became a war for Star Wars. Hoping the baddies would get removed or leashed and muzzled and the good guys could come in and course correct. And initially I thought perhaps we were winning, because when Mandalorian came out, again it was flawed, but it again felt like Star Wars was coming back again. Like there was hope. Then Solo and Episode 9 came and I just came out depressed, and flat lined. No anger. No sadness. Just dead. Completely apathetic. But I stubbornly refused to admit defeat. I just convinced myself “okay the mistake of a sequel trilogy is over. Now they can focus fully on course corrections.” And the finale of mando season 2 seemed to confirm that for me. I again had hope. I couldn’t wait to see how they fixed things and made things better again because they seemed to realize what a mistake they made and they wanted to start finally doing better again. Then came show after show after show after that, we know what they are, and how they contaminated and ruined all the rest of Star Wars that still remained relatively untouched, along with screwing up what was built up and set up in seasons 1 and 2 of Mando. Then came along season 3 of mando to ruin everything with that. And of course we don’t talk about “Hiiiigh Republic”. And the comic books and stuff went completely downhill. The theme park stuff was a massive disappointment. The hotel that didn’t last long made me want to rip my hair out. Yet still, had the tiniest hope that maybe something in Ahsoka would change everything. That maybe just perhaps there was a faction in there that did care and wanted to do it right. Didn’t happen of course. And after that, I knew for sure it was over. Couldn’t deny it anymore. And then here we are today. We already know how it’s going and what’s happening. If anyone ever asks me if I’m a Star Wars fan now, my answer is “I used to be.”

Agree. Last Jedi killed Star Wars, there were just a bunch of people that refused to admit it at the time. That's when they first established their patented Disney formula - make a nonsensical crap 'story' with a ridiculous Mary Sue protagonist, openly defile and destroy previous Star Wars heroes and lore, and scream that fans are racists and haters when they object. That was the first one, they've followed that formula since then.
"bunch of people that refused to admit it." Those weren't real people. Rian Johnson had a million twitter-bots running defense for the flick and that created the illusion of a "divide." The revenue falling off a cliff, especially for merch, told the true tale.
They didn't try to hide their agenda though: _"Subvert expectations"_ Subvert, also known as undermining, which is to "erode the base or foundation of". When Disney first bought Star Wars I was part of a Star Wars gaming group. I love Star Wars, the expanded universe; but when Disney made the announcement that JJ Abrams was going to direct the next movie I knew it was over. JJ Abrams has a history of ignoring canon and make cheap facsimiles of franchises he has worked on. It was at that point I took a stand and refused to support Disney in any way. Many members of my gaming group tried to reassure me, but I held fast. When their first Disney Wars filmed released I refused to see it. I was the only one in my gaming group. My friends made excuses for it, but with each passing film their stance changed. We still doing gaming together, group is a bit smaller; but we don't do as much Star Wars related stuff. When we do Star Wars gaming it is old stuff. The good stuff. See to me Disney didn't even kill Star Wars. George Lucas did the moment he sold it to Disney. He knew their plan before the final paper work was signed. What else were they going to do with it? Disney wasn't Star Wars. They didn't understand Star Wars, and up until that point they had ZERO involvement in Star Wars. Was it worse than I thought? Yes, but still I thought the end result should have been obvious to everyone. The moment they brought in Abrams was their admission that they cared nothing for the lore, nothing for the canon, and that ultimately they had every intention of destroying it.
@@Lemmiwings Yep, the first stab came in the 90's when he released the orginial trilogy over an over again making sure the people understand he doing it only for the money and proving he doesn't understand Star Wars anymore. I hate that male brands are becoming girl brands. Saying that as a woman myself. It's like, I never felt unincluded in any of this stuff. I used to play Star Wars, and Indiana Jones, and Lord of the Rings with my brothers growing up. I had my Padme Amidala dolls that I used to play with (still do, as a matter of fact. Own that is, not play with). And I feel like I was one of the girls that was more naturally drawn to boy brands, but that's because I liked adventures. I certainly wasn't excluded. And I think part of the reason why I'm attracted to those kind of boys brands is because I'm attracted to men. I like what men stand for, so I like their values and things that they're interested in. I don't want to see men becoming effeminate. I don't want to see male brands become effeminate. If I want female stuff, I'll read Jane Eyre or Pride and Prejudice- which are great, and they don't need to be masculine, either. At the end of the day these corporations are pandering to no one.
So true. My sister feels exactly the same. We always played Star Wars or LOTR together too and as a man it was always refreshing to find a girl who loved Star Wars.

The reason she calls it that is because she compares it to God. And this is tied into the same destructive neo-Marxist/Female Supremacist's line of thinking, to break down every institution and tradition and spit on it, burn it to the ground and humiliate it.

Screw them.
Ditto.

George Lucas killed Star Wars when he stopped listening to his collegues.
Star Wars was already long dead, when he sold it to Disney.
@@Lemmiwings Yep, the first stab came in the 90's when he released the orginial trilogy over an over again making sure the people understand he doing it only for the money and proving he doesn't understand Star Wars anymore.
Then he made the Menacing Phantomium and Mr. Jar Jar proving we were right.
He surrounded himself with yes mans and got rid of those who challeneged him. He believed his fans who worshipped him as a genius and gave us the prequels. That killed Star Wars.
Lucas ran out of gas. He knew it. I am thinking he was hoping he could sell it, but because he was alive they wouldn't have the guts to go off the rails. We don't live forever. If Lucas still owned it and passed away, someone was going to get their hands on it. The end result was going to happen then, now or later. Someday there would be no George in Lucas Films. I can't blame him for taking the money. Also, at the time, Disney was becoming the Disney of today, but weren't even close to the Disney of today. Who else had a pocketbook filled with the kind of cash Lucas got?

Pablo Hidalgo's X avatar is Cannon. Phonetically hilarious.
The Acolyte is merely the first splash of dirt on the coffin lid
Dirt? That isn't dirt that Disney is splashing on the coffin lid. The smell and the steam coming off it tells you what it really is.
Disney put the Star Wars franchise on HOSPICE and the Acolyte ⚰️ it.
Great synopsis of what happened.
We're nerds and nerds love to share! And that was what made the whole fanbase so complimentary. These corporations have tried to demonise and pitch the sexes against each other for far too long. Thankfully, people are starting to see through Disney's vile ways. Btw, Brilliantly articulated. 👏🏻
@14:15 mark: Lookin svelt, AZ. We all love to see it. Keep going
Star Wars has been dead to me since The Last Jedi came out. I was there opening weekend. What they did to Luke Skywalker was unforgivable. Character Assassination in the dirtiest way possible. Absolutely disgusting.
I felt sick after The Last Jedi. It was a hatchet job by an indie director who hated Star Wars and couldn't stay with the story.
@@Fiasco3 and for what? Ruin Johnson never got his stupid trilogy and never will.
