I don't know! I watched all of them and the feller that won was really good, but for complexity of picking and hitting every note right on the money, I think Presley should have gotten the prize. He is absolutely outstanding, and you know he's only going to get better if that's possible. A flat picker of the highest order!!
Presley is the best, hands down and he's going to get alot better, but they are all very talented, I appreciate all guitar 🎸 players, thanks to everyone for making this video.
Which contestant almost never bothered looking at what either of his hands were doing? Answer Presley Barker. In this regard he is most like his major influence Doc Watson, who never looked!
Love the guy with baseball cap, looks like a Tom mic too . that guitar sounds insane.I think he won.He is amazing ,dude can shred bluegrass. Guys like him are probably better than brad paisley? The kid has all 10 fingers going. How do these people get so dam good. What guitar is kid in pink shirt playing?
How does Presley get such accuracy that way with right hand floating all stability from the way his arm is resting on the top of the guitar 🤷♂️ amazing to say the least
While his guitar gently gentles. And the next generation is stepping up to their times. Nice pickin’ ! Wonder if Hardin the guitarist is a distant cousin of a Hardin the painter who did work for my dad’s custom picture frame shop. Hardin did a portrait from a photo of John F Kennedy that made it to the White House and the eyes of Jacqueline Kennedy. She liked it!
I disputed this one in 16 and still dispute it now, listening to it again, Presley was the best picker on that stage. Eric is a wonderful guitar flatpicker but Presley was better.
Number four who played Cannonball Rag has a weird travis picking technique it seems he's using his pinky and his index fingers floating, amazing nonetheless.

Irvin Slagter mandolin music
M
Mandolin music? What does that mean?
Irvin Slagter And I soundly agree!
yeah, agree I think Presley too. cause he had that 'true' flat picking sound , he was text book all the way.
Presley won in my book too
It's a shame you can't hear them... They're all really good! Nice guitars!
Presley is the young man in the gray t-shirt right ? He's the BOMB 💥💣
The right guy won, IMO, but they were all great. Seeing the young fella did me good. Man what a player he is, and will be...
Presley is the boss! He’s the best picker by far
Why didn't you get the mic signal for this video? Isn't that the point of the mic?
My God! They are very good. But the child at 20 minutes with grey shirt is a kind of Outstanding Guitarist !!!! Bravissimo 👏
Heard em all and it was Pressly that not only played the best but most importantly had soul in his sound
Presley is the best, hands down and he's going to get alot better, but they are all very talented, I appreciate all guitar 🎸 players, thanks to everyone for making this video.
The recording sounds like it was made 30 feet from the guitars. The PA company doesn't have a better mic than that one? For a Guitar contest?

How good Doc? He was blind:-))
Great talent 🙂
Are the judges hidden so they can't see the contestants, just hear them??

As good as Presley Barker is, I think this guy won fair and square.
ken barr I totally agree.
@@widowmakerheartattack5212 I agree as well
barker smoked him technically but they must be looking at other things too i think presley won hands down

That kid was flat burning that flat top slap up. I heard nary a missed note in that display og guitar mastery. Dayum !!

Damn... Presley. He has that Jimi Hendrix mouth thing going on. Get him some gum to chew. Monster right hand.
Presley!!!!!!!
Agree
They're all winners
Yeah, any of them are welcome on any stage or show I'm running.

This is excellent! Can you list the names of the performers?
I think you can still find them on the festival website - waynehenderson.org - competition tab
Presley was the best I thought.
Reminds me of cody kilby except he smiles.
yeehaw!
Man oh man I thought Presley Barker should have won hands down.
I agree. He has "it."
Presley is the winner!!!
What a command he has of the instrument....
Anyone know the name of the last song on the video? The one the winner plays? Beautiful!
The song is Angeline the baker
Thanks!
Eric Hardin had it all the way
I think hastings has better technique
Holy crap, that Presley kid picked every note. That should have won it alone lol, I mean finger picking is not as hard as what he just did
Too many white people. Ya’ll need mo’ diversity.
What an ignorant statement
