The old buildings in Vigan were very common in old Manila once upon a time especially inside Intramuros and the surrounding areas until it was completely destroyed in WW2 during the Liberation of Manila in Feb-Mar of 1943. One surviror that lived in those districts said that the Spanish language seemed to have just vanished over night.

Nice one. Most of Manila actually used to be like this, but if you look at pictures from world war two you can see how the city was levelled by both the Japanese and Americans. After Warsaw it was the most destroyed city in ww2. It used to be called the Paris of the East, but there weren't many funds to rebuild the city after the war. The Japanese also deliberately firebombed lots of euro architecture to erase European influence. Bit of history.

Its sad that the colonial city of Manila the forever ally and “brother of the Americans” was never rebuilt ‘cause the US preferred to help their enemy, Japan but the Philippines got her Independence after the tragedies of world war 2

Is Las Casas Filipinas open for vloggers to see. I think that is the most beautiful place in the Philippines. It's Vigan x 10. Hope Adam and Yaz can go see it. I don't know of any foreign vlogger who has been there. It's so beautiful that the video is two hours long th-cam.com/video/p5HtN56xhUs/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TourFromHomeTV

Beautiful paradise Philippines don’t need European influence. It has strong biblical history in which they tried wiping out native beliefs and worship so that eventually follow their religious cults and worship their gods. Ancient natives of the Philippines has such a bond with YHUH our Creator, one true God. But much became misguided and throughout the centuries have passed down European (Roman) culty religions generation to generation. Wake up Philippines. Your great ancestors are Ibriy(Hebrew). YHUH’s people. Know where you truly stand in the eyes of YHUH. Blessings.

My father actually remembered how it looked prior to WW2, and it certainly was beautiful. Rogue Japanese soldiers decided to burn the city, after being told by their Japanese general to just evacuate. The Spanish architecture would have been a nice landmarks across Manila.

If you guys get tired of hot weather go either Tagaytay or Baguio very mild weather at the mountains. But there is more things to do in Baguio such as hiking to the blue soil hills, strawberry picking and sight seeing through bambo forests and rice terraces.

We were in Vigan city in 2012 on my vacation . I curremty live in USA. Those Spanish houses are well preserve. They were abandoned when the Spaniard were driven by the Americans in early 1900. I slept in one of those houses as it was converted into hotel in the 60's.

Philippines is my adopted country. I live on the west coast of Luzon. I feel it is important to explore and learn about my adopted country. So I took my family to Vigan, 3 years ago. It was a bad trip. Too much construction. Could not find any parking for my car. The answer there is......don't take your big car. We will try it again. Been to Baguio. First time was 1973. It was a nice quiet mountain town then. Now, with so much construction and growth, it is just another big city, although much cooler than down in the flat land. Still lots of places to explore, and that is just on Luzon.

I still remember this as a kid in the 70s in Iloilo City. I no longer see this now, and stores seem to be open much of the day without the siesta in between.

I love the wind on my face and blowing my hair. Here in Baguio city, I did not experience that. Its refreshing though. We went to our hotel and rest a bit and went out at 4 pm. The buildings are really impressive even though I went there many times. They preserved the old Spanish style house and buildings. The most beautiful BPI building I have ever seen is in there haha it was so elegant in Spanish style building. Lol The empanada is really delicious and so cheap. It was worth it to visit Vigan. Thank you for featuring Vigan. Go to bell tower it was built in 1571. :)

Unfortunately, you were not able to visit the pot making factory which was established almost 2 centuries ago & still existing which most foreign tourists & vloggers visit and give good reviews too. Last year, a foreign vlogger, a Korean, described Vigan as the most beautiful city in Asia while you described it as the most besutiful city in the world, msybe because of its uniqueness. THANK YOU. It's one of a kind in this world, the reason why Vigan was nominated as "one of the 7 Wonder Cities of the World" from among more than 2000 entries around the world & true enough, after several elimination rounds, it was chosen & declared by UNESCO as among "The New 7 Wonder Cities of the World" in 2016. The Philippines was a Spanish colony longer than Mexico and other Latin American countries. So no surprise you can see churches, cities, plazas, etc that are from colonial era that dot the archipelago and Vigan is only one of the many but Vigan is the most intact and preserved.
If you wanna experience Spanish speaking filipinos go to Zamboanga where they speak Chabacano a spanish creole located in the south. I also have a family there apart from Vigan where I came from.

I live in canada now but I used to live in Vigan City also but what I have found is quite interesting. The sun is hotter here than when I was in Vigan. It burns my skin unlike in Vigan
