Hey everyone! Adam, the director here! I’ll be here in the comments to answer any questions about how we made the film, and to chat about our plans for the feature version (which is going into production this fall!) Thanks for checking out the film!
@@A.S.GPlays Bit of both! It's great practical FX supported by VFX. We did a live casting of the actor so we had a dummy head, and it separates with the skin and all the goo! We painted out green rods puppeting down the body in post and added back in the actors real eyes to add more realism.
For an independent short film, the special effects were awesome... the axe head was the best and Julie's acting was spot on... well done... look forward to the feature.
Loved the effects, the tight story and writing, the acting, and perhaps most important of all, the EDITING. All were really good, but the editing gives the film a unique style that makes it stand out. I loved the hostage and felt like we got to know a lot about her, even though she had little dialog. Breaking Sierra's kneecap instead of bashing her head to bits says a lot.
The leg break is actually my fav in the film for its simplicity. The actress has her leg pinned behind and the leg that bends is just foam in the pants. Fun gag, and always got the biggest pop at festivals!
I can see why it’s called Greed & Gore, special effects makeup was excellent, I think the FXMua’s were one of the stars of this film. Julie Mainville was the other!
Fantastic horror gore movie! The dramatic progression arc is flawless. and the gore effects are highly credible. Also, the playing of the actors and actress is creepily realistic. On this point, I want to give a special ❤to the actress who portrayed the hostage, Julie Mainville. Without wanting belittle other members of this awesome crew, the playing of Julie is a real tour de force. Interpretating a scary character, who never knows if she will survive or what fate is expecting her, from the beginning to the end of this thrilling and gloomy story, is a very demanding task. Congratulations. Having said that, a question haunts (no pun intended) me. Why the mysterious masked killer didn't kill the hostage? This terrifying unknown character never tried to kill the hostage nor to help her (at least not directly), even if by killing all the criminals who abduct this poor victim, he contributed to save her life and free her. For instance, when the axe masked intruder have killed the first hoodlum, it would have been so easy for him to kill the hostage right after, since she was bind and gagged. Where does he come from? Of course, I'm not necessarily expecting any response from you, guys. Explaining too much things «kills» the fun, especially in an horror gore movie. Personally, maybe (this is an hypothesis) I haven't got a clue, this character is a form of Nemesis, a vengeful persona who saves the life of this unfortunate woman, despite (or not) his will. I'm pretty sure that a lot of hostages (real or fictional) would have liked to have such a merry fellow on her/his side, as terrifying as he is.
Great job Adam! This short story gave me a good vibe; like those good old horror movies of the early 80's. You're talented, and as an old school fan, I could tell that you'll be seen on the big screen someday. I had the same feeling on Sam Raimi when I saw Evil Dead the first time.
Hey hi from Tasmania, just watched your short, thought it was great wasn't bored for a moment and lm pretty hard core horror nut, since l was about 9 years old, 63 now so seen a lot. Cheers well done.
Fantastic. You say a full feature is coming, can't wait. I grew up on horror movies. Snuck into see Scanners when it was new and I was 12, so I know good horror. Cast, crew, director, you know what your doing.
Thanks Adam! 😀 Bloody & Bloody well made. 🖤 the practical FX. The actress who played the villainess was the coldest hearted bitch in the history of movies! Great performance. I'm 72 but hopefully I'll last long enough to watch the feature version. Best of luck in everything you do.
Well, there was certainly plenty of greed and gore! Awesome stylistic choices, the axe swing into that first kill, very creative. The hostage slamming down the stairs felt like a consequence to the fight upstairs and ya really felt it. The leg snap was almost over the top, but was set up with the hostage pulling back and going for the leg rather than head. Really punchy overall, and hit all the plot points, but it will def benefit from the longer run time. Break a leg!
I had to give a like for the shot of Tango's head with the axe. That was a very well-done (and gruesome) effect. I watch a lot of short horror flicks on TH-cam, and this one was definitely in the upper echelons. I was wondering if we were gonna find out who the Axe Man was, but "they just happened to cross paths with a psycho slasher" is an acceptable explanation 😆
This film is going to be a feature film, which will expand on a lot of these things. The director/creator Adam is going into production on it this year. Gonna be epic! Thanks for watching and commenting! And welcome to the Lunchbox!
@@DeformedLunchbox Well, I bet that'll be a fun slasher flick I'll have to check out. It'll be interesting to see what y'all can do with more time, more budget, and presumably a higher body count. :D
Hey Adam, you sir are indeed a very talented guy to cram so much tension and on the edge of your seat action into such a short film is pretty amazing it seemed so familiar and yet original leaving me wanting the long version if that makes sense , Gore ,hell yeah ,Bravo
