terrible opinion. you need to get off that forex drug. forex is dead for prop firms. spread are shit. futures is 100x better and you shouldn't waste your money on forex.
Im trading with both forex and futures props funded but with futures you really have to know what you’re doing. Topstep has trailing daily drawdown and once you get funded you have position size restrictions til you get over 4500 in profit and at that point your max loss is starting balance so the only capital you can risk is the profit you made. Also if you choose to withdrawal then that instantly sets max loss to starting balance so if you are up 2k and want to withdrawal $300 then the most you can lose before losing the account is $1,700 so its best to build a 10-15k buffer before withdrawing because you don’t want to hit lower than $4,500 otherwise your position size is limited.
@@SinsTrader it’s not the best rules but it’s a top futures firm. Elite trader funding has better rules so I’m gonna look into getting an account. Also topstep live funds you eventually so they have every right to make their rules stricter.
Yeah, honestly I fucking hate futures prop firms, so many dumb ass rules. And just being honest with myself, I’m not that good of a trader. Forex properties are so much easier to trade, but that comes with the risk of them being fucking scams.
I 100% agree forex prop firms are a LOT easier to trade with, unless you're really good at scalping. And they all have that stupid trailing drawdown rule... one of the best forex prop firms is Funded Trading Plus... you double your account size every 10%; you can get rid of the daily drawdown completely when you're up 20% and the profit split is 100% at +30% . Check them out. They're great. @@QuintonvWilliams
7:20 what you're talking about is INTRADAY trailing drawdown. This is mainly APEX, other firms have EOD trailing which only matters at the end of the day. Also it's already 2 steps because you have 1 step to pass the challenge, and then you need to make another amount to make payment
I made the switch about 1 month ago. MFFU has end of day draw down, instant execution, much more regulated and stable. As far as strategy I just adapted to a simple inside bar strategy within a specific session(s) -- pretty simple. Also, don't forget you have other assets like crude oil, pretty much everything has been better than fx

Most of us traders want to see firms backed up by real investment funding, even if the profit split less like 50/50, it will be a win win for both prop firms and traders
So you've obviously never traded futures. Futures there is slippage and sometimes there isn't instant execution. It's a centralized system with not nearly as much capital as FX. There must be an order to match yours and liquidate the asset. FX is money, nothing to liquidate so execution is usually faster. During high news times, closing your position can be very different. I totally recommend futures, i like it, especially for lower TF's, but it also has its drawbacks.
what is your plan to manage the futures contract expiration? you may want to tell us which prop firm offers perpetual futures contracts that do not expire. The better trading conditions are cancelled out by negotiating the contract expiration drama.
The trailing drawdown with futures is a big downside in my opinion. But they are looking for consistent traders who use proper risk management. You essentially have to risk lower until you hut the point where trailing drawdown stops. Then you can build a cushion with more profits to avoid drawdown altogether.
Hi Andrei! Yes, I agree with you, better to switch to futures markets for the reasons you have mentioned. The execution's speed is what I need more, and trading Nasdaq that is a must. Like you, am watching futures prop firms so I'll be glad to see your comments regarding such topic. Regards..

Tbh I think futures prop firms rules are harder but is a very reliable and backed up market, so I think traders just want to go there to be sure that there funded accounts are not in danger like in CFDs prop firms
