Before this ep I had no idea but almost immediately once Kid started talking to him I realized it was Killer-- and I still think you're right it's an underrated reveal. I feel like it hasn't been since Spandam that we've seen a villain go so out of their way to torment people in such a horrible and lasting way. The only other person I can think of that could have tormented people to the end of their lives like this was Sugar but she wasn't going out of her way to do it and it thankfully didn't end up being permanent. (I still think her ability is the most terrifying though.)
the luffy/kid/law teamup, the fact that kid had a higher bounty than him, and the fact that killer was the only non-captain other than zoro to be in the worst generation probably all played a huge part in them making an impression on him. plus during marineford i dont think luffy was too focused on who the whitebeard commanders were and what they looked like.
@@DeadMan03 if you remember when akainu was heading towards luffy then aokji jumped and staped luffy's arm then marco come and kicked aokiji , luffy then saw marco face and thanked him , although perhaps luffy didn't knew his name (like the other commanders when they helped him luffy was like who is that ? No matter ... thank you) . Unlike when he met killer luffy was talking with kid when he heared kid calling killer by his name when kid asked him about the people he killed because they laughed at their dreams finding the one piece etc...

Allosaurus is smaller then a T-Rex, but we have reason to believe the allosaurus is a predator, while the t-rex is an opportunity hunter mostly focused on carrion
Now that killer was revealed, it makes sense why “kamazo” was very strong and gave zoro a good fight. Both of them are easily yonko commander level threats… definitely stronger than jack at this point.
To be fair, Luffy does not have direct interaction with Marco. Also Luffy's mind during Marineford is just solely focused on Ace alone. It was a hectic war and many things happening at the same time. We got that perspective from the OP fan letter. While in Sabaody, Luffy is not much focus on anything so he can observe and remember this little things.

because he's in the same generation with luffy imo
