@@cavedweller2000 apparently that’s because the people running the shows they mocked didn’t really like being mocked, so they didn’t allow it get aired. Eventually, this happened with so many shows they kinda had to turn it into that.
Easily the funniest show on TV, back when it was shown. I know it was a hell of a lot of work making each episode, but it was sooo worth it! I really wish they'd bring it back. Consistently hilarious!
@@beefbusiness52 well back then for this show, they had to watch the shows to write jokes about them, they presumably had to record or at the very least recieve the tapes of that week's programs because while catch-up and screen recording was a thing, it wasn't reliable or good enough for tv quality, not to mention they needed the rights from the production companies to use the footage in the first place. then they needed to film it and broadcast it. this was not on the same level as youtube reacts or essays! this was a scripted tv show aired mostly weekly for 10 years!
if anybody is interested the clip was taken from an American show called Curb Your Enthusiasm, it's a comedy so it was intentional that the wood didn't break when Larry hit it with the axe
It’s definitely not from Curb. Harry Hill’s TV Burp only ever used clips from British TV. It’s probably from some daytime show like Escape to the Country or something, and the guy in it just happens to look a bit like Larry David.
This show was a highlight of the schedules.
