the music is old, but the message in the song never changes, no matter how old the band or the music, the message will never change, its as true today as it was back then
KXOJ in Tulsa OK had a hard rock program on at midnight to 6 am called the Gospel according to music. I would listen to it over the PA system at the Christian church/school as I cleaned up the place M-F
Sorry, I first heard this song then but barely had any money left at the end of paying bills so I couldn't afford it. Once in a while I would hear the chorus go off in my head years later and wonder if I made that up. Now I know better
These guys started out in Australia as the band 100% Proof. They were actually produced under that name by a member of fellow Aussies in the band AC/DC.
coolnegative they did start out as 100% proof but not all the band members are the same as in proof. plus they're from England. I know because the lead gutarist/vocalist is my dad!
Samantha Rose Wilson That is so cool!! always happy to have correct information. appreciate the info. have you followed in your dad's footsteps as a musician or singer? just curious. God Bless.
coolnegative no I haven't but that's only because I have problems with my health. I love to sing and before I was unwell I was training to be a dancer. Singing and dancing were always passions xx
Samantha Rose Wilson that is awesome except for the health problems. you will be in my prayers. personally I love to sing, but no-one can bare to listen to my voice, seriously I am that bad. I am not even sure if God would consider my singing as a "joyful noise" 😂! and I just don't have the self discipline to learn an instrument.
coolnegative hahaha aww I'm sure you're not that bad. My dad has his own music studio in the garden with guitars, Amps and a drum kit set up. He still loves to rock!
Warrior of light Destroy the force of darkness Warrior of light Destroy, destroy! The gates of hell shall not prevail Against the Sons of Jesus They crumble and they rot With the force of Him who freed us, yeah! Warrior of light Destroy the force of darkness Warrior of light Destroy, destroy! We’ll march against his walls With an army of ten thousand We’ll seek him in his halls Until his home is wasteland, yeah Warrior of light Destroy the force of darkness Warrior of light Destroy, destroy
There was a band called Lightforce, after a few demos, their first album was 'Mystical Thieves'. A style switch to a heavier thrashy sound and a new release, 'Break The Curse'. Then a name change, to Mortification' and a style change to death metal and the rest is Christian metal history.
it's actually long and complicated story behind that. Basically like has happened to so many other bands (even more so in the Christian rock genre) Stryken (originally "Stryker" 1979) was basically dismembered by outside influences that had their own intentions for several of the members of that band. Here's a link to a video interview that explains a bit about it - th-cam.com/video/7hITW45yW14/w-d-xo.html
Oh yeah I loved this jam as well as the demo & two 100% Proof albums. Always wished that the production was better, but Pure Metal label was small and most everything they produced sounded mediocre...
In 1988, a friend of mine gave a compilation tape he created of Christian Metal bands. I took a liking to this one. Powerful one.
the music is old, but the message in the song never changes, no matter how old the band or the music, the message will never change, its as true today as it was back then
One of the best most powerful songs ever made. Coolest too

Oh, the memories 😃
Wow, I had this when i was a kid, I thought it was cheesey then, but listening to it now it is much better than I remember, this song kinda rocks.....
It's rather simplistic music. Power chord and power vocal. But so much of 80s metal was (Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot).

ask yourself this question,,,whatever happened to Stryken??/ Exactly

Ralph the 80's are over goofball
DESTROY!!
What ever happened to this band?
FracturedOzone78 Sie wurden entrückt....
I thought this band was called lightforce?
armortron no
Lightforce was a different band but also Christian rock/metal and they eventually became Mortification.

Do you know where to get it on vinyl or CD?
Sound a bit like Judas Priest
